Description
First Day SunsetToday I was driving along the shore on my way home.
In the afternoon the weather was very cloudy but gradually it turned better and better.
In the shore I could see a lot of tetrapods, and the sun was shining between the thick clouds.
As usual I stopped my car, and shot quickly.
This is the first sunset shot in this year
Nikon D300S
Tokina AT-X 107 DX Fisheye
HDRi with 9shots jpegs, Photomatix 3.2.6 + Topaz Adjust.

I used this for reference for a birthday prezzie. .-.
It was a first try at a sunset, and I'm terrible at backgrounds and coloring, etc. ><
SO. I don't want to show the world. :c
But it made me feel bad to not ref. So here it iss ~~

They are the tetrapods, which weaken the power of the wave near the shore

Such a beautiful, surreal shot. You really got the timing just right - the placement of the setting sun, peeking out of the clouds.
Excellent work, Tomo.

I like this shot a lot, but I wonder why the difference between the contrasts is so sweet ?
why did you shot 9 ? that's a lot ! why not 3 ?
I like the composition and the colours anyway

Awesome picture. As usual, Japan always looks beautiful. By the way, I see from your info that you used a D300S. I would like to know if it's any good cause I'm planning to buy one

Thank you so much for your attention
Yeah I changed to D300S from Canon EOS 50D.
I shot various scenes, from portrait to landscape, waterscape, flowers, etc.
My favorite portrait photographers usually uses Nikon's body so I just thought I should change to Nikon.
And, D300S has the AEB function with 9 serial pics, and it's a great advantage for HDR.
Furthermore, 51 points 3D-tracking AF system is very nice for shooting moving objects such animals and...my son xD
Totally, now I love so much D300S rather than 50D

Beautiful shot!
Makes me want to go out and use my fisheye. This is one of your works that I want to make into my desktop wallpaper!
I've been wondering as well why you've switched to a D300S.
That feature makes sense...So in one shot - you get all 9 serial pix for HDR.
How about 7D? Did you take a look at it?

WindyLife In reply to aleste37 [2010-01-07 10:03:16 +0000 UTC]
Thank you
When I bought D300S, 7D was already in store.
Yeah I think 7D is very good body to shoot everything.
7D has more resolution than D300S, but it needs the good lenses such L lenses to make better use of the high resolution.
The reason why I chose D300S is...
#51points 3D tracking AF
#quality of noise
#Nikon's aberration revision system (I was fed up with the aberration of Canon's pics...)
#9 serial AEB
But in Japan, 7D is the most popular!!!

Haha..I was considering getting Nikon, but my brother handing me down a 20D and 2 lenses made the decision for me.
Now I'm loyal to Canon - but I still want to try Nikon - for the gadget lover in me
Aberration revision system - I better check that out.
