Not bad, considering that I only had one episode to go off of…
This is part of the fad ~nillia started to fight OOC in fanfiction. It actually started in the Inuyasha fandom, but it spilled over into others (Go here to see them all) Including Danny Phantom. I fell in love with the idea when I saw it, so I had to so something, even though sacrifices had to be made (Sleep? Who needs sleep? Sleep is for the losers who don’t have slave drivers for muses…) Also, there are a few panels I want to explain…
Panel 3;
I got the impression that she’s one serious practical joker. Also, I picked Paulina as her victim since I can’t see those two getting along that well. They both like being the center of attention, especially when the attention is Danny’s (Well, Danny Phantom, anyways.) so those two are probably gonna butt heads before long.Panel 4; How about a little show of faith out there? I mean, sure she’s just a kid, but she struck me as being fairly competent. Just because Vlad tricked her doesn’t make her stupid. Vlad tricks everybody, in case you haven’t noticed.
Panel 5; I know what Dani has been through is really sad and all, but did it LOOK like she was flying off to find a nice quiet place to cry at the end of Kindred Spirits?!
Panel 6; Okay, maybe this one’s a little overdone, but you have to understand that both Dani and Vlad would both have to be seriously OOC to make peace with one another again.
Panel 7; WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!
Panel 8; I know she’s not as strong as Danny is, but I also think she’s too hardheaded to ever acknowledge that. At least out loud, at any rate…

EDIT! I changed the pictures. It was driving me insane since it was my most faved deviation, and I absolutely hated it because it was ugly and awkward and the characters didn't look right. XP

Vlad is a single 40 year old man, a half ghost, a multi billionarie and in love with Maddie
He is not the father of some random estrangled half ghost child, a cat owner, in love with Danny, the inhuman spawn of all evil, interested in anyone for his heir other then Danny, or in love with Jack Fenton.

She still seems like a Mary Sue to me...and until they redeem her, you're the only one that can ever write her decently. Sorry. That just happens to be how I feel about it.

I just think if the story hadn't been done so often before by fans, Butch could have pulled it off. The problem wasn't so much Dani herself as that Butch followed the same formula the suethors, up to and including wandering logic and All-Purpose Evil Villain OOC!Vlad. I mean, come on. She runs into Danny's bedroom, and he just automatically knows she went out a second story window? Not only that, but goes ghost to look for her?
It's probably unfair of me since it's really not her fault that the writers let fangirls dictate the course of the story, but she is the centerpiece and, therefore, a sue. But that's just my opinion. I hope do better by her in a future episode because I have taken a fancy to her.

Me too.... I think she has the potential to be a very complex and interesting character if people just stopped writing her wrong. I'm actually happy that Butch made her so much younger then him, too, since it adds a new angle to the half ghost thing. Plue it kinda fits, too (Vlad-Older Danny-Teenager Dani-Kid) But I do draw the line at Dani. No more half ghosts after her, I hope...
The thing is, I've always seen Mary-Sues as uncreative characters where the author hasn't thought out their personality or character flaws. Dani strikes me as being a lot more fleshed out then that...

Well, though I don't share your ease in accepting Dani, I'm not the type to try and change your mind about her. I think, really, my problem is that she is the kind of person that would get on my nerves in real life, what with her stubborn, in-your-face, center-of-attention attitude.
I do like the idea of this, though. It's good to try and spread this sort of thing around, and if it wasn't for the fact I would royally put people OUT of character, I'd probably try and make one. XD
...Maybe one for Dan...but I feel as though I'd end up scewing Vlad terribly. So complex...

actually, there's also an episode later in the series where she comes back, after her debut episode. Vlad catches her because she still has the problem of slowly dissolving if she uses her powers to much, but Danny saves her by using the poorly designed Ecto-Defecto to stabalize her (poorly designed because it was meant to weaken ghosts, but strengthebed them instead.)
