Description
This is Eris of Discord. I loved how her hair always looked submerged in water in Sinbad, and just had to draw her again.Used a bunch of references from the movie to get her to look like her.

Eris is one of those elusive goddesses who is not photogenic at all. The "camera" just always seems to catch her when she's not being very attractive. She's a goddess that you have to see in action. Until this picture. Which is, as far as I'm concerned, better than Dreamworks' images.Β

Personally, coming back to this, I'd like to re-do it but better. Β I can see things that don't feel quite elegant or real enough if you know what I mean. Β I think I have another painting I've done of her waaaaay before I did this one - I wasn't happy with that (of course, it's old and bad XD) but I think like you said, Eris is elusive. Β You can never quite get her right.

I am surprised by the lack of fan art I am finding for this fine goddess, especially with how much charm she has, there's no way you can make her look like a victim and still look like herself and I find that very attractive. I genuinely like you simple black and white depiction, the expression, the stance, it communicates the character very well, thank you!

Its not a trick XD Its like dancing, y'know? Sometimes if you concentrate too hard on it you miss the beat. For some the best dancing is done when they're really thinking about it, for others its best when they're not thinking at all.
