Okay while browsing around I ran across one of Ravendeviant's designs, which ultimately inspired the idea of a modular starfighter. I have pictured all the modules that I created for this fighter. I also included the cockpit module without a module installed.modules

I love this idea - feels very much like a logical next step for the Empire, moving on from using the same sphere-shaped cockpit on almost all their TIEs.
The only thing I'd change would be to make the forward cockpit stubbier, to avoid looking too much like the YT-1300 etc.

It does have a definite YT vibe to it. I was working from my TIE/PH cockpit which also has a bit of a YT flavor to it.
