Is the blue energy being fired ION beams because I recall the Tie-Defender having ION cannons.

They're all cannons, I just copied the idea from old Hasbro toys where they show a beam fire out rather than just a simple laser.

Well ION cannons shoot blasts, not exactly lasers, I just guessed they would be ION energy because it is blue in the Star Wars universe.
