BeautifulI'm sorry I'm not beautiful,
I know I shouldn't care.
But I'm sorry for my big, round nose,
And my thin and dull blonde hair.
I'm sorry for my large fingers,
From the type of work I do.
I'm sorry that my eyes aren't wide,
Or the proper shade of blue.
I'm sorry that my breasts,
Are not as perky as they could be.
And also for my stomach,
It's the worst part of me, you see.
I'm sorry about my thighs,
They rub together when I walk.
And for my voice that doesn't sound,
Like sweet music when I talk.
Sorry that my legs are not,
As shapely as hers are.
And also for both of my feet,
As they each now have a scar.
People say that I'm not beautiful,
And I don't hate them when they say it.
But still there are the times,
When I cannot bare to hear it.
I've never been called beautiful,
And no, that's not a lie.
So if my friends and family can't,
I don't expect much from any guy.
I'm sorry I'm not beautiful,
Maybe I'd change it if I could.
But then there are the good days,
When I doubt I even should.
I'm sorry I'm not beautiful,
In the only ways you see.
But there's a soul, a heart and spirit,
That makes up the better me.

PS - I may not know you. But judging on your writing solely, I can tell you that you are indeed loved for it. That, madam, is what inner beauty is all about I think: being loved for what you do and not what you look like.

Well written! I really do like this. I admit it's no fun when one is judged by appearance. I've been there (girls would judge me back in high school and it was a horrific judgment). But like you said in your poem, it's what's inside that counts. Eventually, the girls in school saw that in me over time (they loved how I could make them laugh via my Bill Cosby routines at the talent shows). Heck! They even nominated me for prom king just because I could make them laugh. I didn't win (the handsome jock got it as usual.... blarg!) but I did get prince (I beat all the other handsome jocks nominated!) So yeah, there is a time when everyone is judged by their appearance. But when the inner beauty comes through, there's no matching it!

I understand it. Everyone judges the outside of me, and nobody feels like looking 'inside' of me. This is horrible.
But even though I don't know you in person, I can definitively tell you're beautiful indie. I could care less about outside.
You have a wonderful way to write things that people can really imagine, and even when it's a crack could, you make it so believable, that she people watch those shows for which you written, they want those coupled to become true. Those people who are rude to you have eyes, but they are blind, because they care about the outside of people. You shouldn't care about what they say, because you are beautiful in your own, and no one can change it.
An about the poem.
I like it, no, I love it. It's really deep, and it talks about something many of us are going throughout. It's simply beautiful, and I honestly hope that you will write more.

Yes, I agree. Whenever I write about something, I always try to get myself into the place of the person about whom I'm writing, so it would be full of emotions, and realistic, and has a meaning for others.
