You have taken an excellent shot. Taking photos of butterflies is a bit like fishing. They are so tricky to catch. Your picture is so inspiring. I spent at least half an hour in the garden this morning trying to get a good shot. I didn't snag a good picture but I had fun trying. Maybe next time. Thanks for sharing

You're right it is like fishing, takes a lot of patience and sometimes..you just come home empty handed, ha.

it's NOT a moth it's a common buckeye butterfly & one of the best shots I've seen of the species dispite the poor baby having a torn wing

^_^ I'm not either but I'm very familiar with this species they are common in my area I've posted more then a few shots myself but nothing this good

You have some good shots too, They are tricky to take photos of, they don't like to sit still in one spot very long. They are very well camouflaged too, I don't see too many around here, we usually only get the Monarch (or I think they are Monarchs, orange and yellow kinds)

i just learned to tell a monarch from a viceroy in a photo YESTERDAY in person i can tell simiply by size but in a photo its hard

^_^ well you had alot of types of things I like & 2 subjects I actually own groups for so allowing them in more groups should help you get some hits & in turn faves/comments good luck
