1. he interferes with u/y
2. he turns evil--though not by choice--forever enslaved by xana, since i doubt the real william even exists in that shell of a body anymore, following multiple dives into the digital sea
3. like all of the clones, clone-william has flaws that clearly show that he's not the genuine article; plus i wonder how will's parents are taking to their "new" son, thinking the clone is william

1. Interferes with U/Y...Not like they confessed to each other. William is an opportunist.
2. If William is the only one who tried to free himself from X.A.N.A.'s control, and was finally saved in "Down to Earth", then I doubt that the real William died...
3. While the clone William is extremely funny, we have to remember a sad, yet true fact: He is only here to replace William while the Lyoko-warriors are trying to save the real William.
But I respect your opinion.

1.So does Sissi, Theo, Johny, Milly and Tamiya by that logic. What's so wrong with him liking Yumi? It's not like her and Ulrich are actually dating. If Ulrich wants William to back off he should ask Yumi out himself.
2.Actually that's not true, in a few episodes William returned for a second. And at the end of the series William was released by Xana.
3.His clone has no relation to William at all besides appearance. The clone was created by Jeremy and once possesed by Xana-but William had no say in it. His parents are concerned and near the end of the series they come to visit "William"

1.1: there've been moments where sissi has shown respect for both ulrich & yumi, not to mention times where she's fallen for odd in full view of the others; theo & johnny are so minor that even junior newcasters, milly & tamiya rank higher than them practically, and speaking of those two, they're too young for ulrich, as ulrich himself clearly pointed out & only took pitty on them for sissi's bullying
1.2: fan opinion, ulrich's obvious discomfort/jealousy, & william's becoming evil under xana aside, there's nothing truly wrong with william liking yumi or vice-vers, except that it must be awkward for yumi to associate with william following countless seasons of fighting him on lyoko
1.3: come now, we all know ulrich is crazy about yumi, yet becomes flustered whenever the subject of them being together comes up; that is, he may act brave & confident whilst in battle against xana, but when it comes to personal matters, like matters of the heart, his confidence drops so low that it makes his school grades look better by comparison, because he's massively insecure about his own feelings & consequently, yumi's reaction, just as he was when sissi pulled that prank with a fake love letter, causing ulrich to be embarrassed in front of almost everyone by yumi, of all people, since she never sent the letter, even though it has been shown that she does feel similarly in return, hence why there's tension between her & ulrich
2: and here i thought "einstein" said that someone would be lost forever if they fell into the digital sea--hence the use of/need for the skidbladner--which means that william would've been separated from his body following xana's forcing him to take multiple dives into the digital sea; that said, unless the real william was captured by a guardian & team lyoko was actually fighting an evil double of william the entire time, i cannot see how william could've been otherwise released by xana, because once he fell into the digital sea, william should've been lost forever, according to jeremie's hypothesis regarding the digital sea & lyoko's whole thing about separating body from mind, such as when ulrich became nothing more than a spectre with a voice due to xana taking control of his inanimate body or yumi being stuck on lyoko due to losing the code that allows her to be rematerialized into the real world
3.1: the clones are actually supposed to have the entire genetic structure of the subject being cloned, but because personality isn't fully tied to genetics & since xana would not allow jeremie access to the control the virus has over william, the clone has some bugs, just like how jeremie's own clone is a huge flirt although the real jeremie is too socially inept around girls--even with aelita & yumi around (nay, especially with them around, since they like to tease jeremie [especially aelita, since she loves him in return])--to be so bold
3.2: did the folks have the real william back with them when they visited the clone or was it just them alone, because if it was them alone, who's to say that the real william wasn't still trapped on lyoko & team lyoko were sent another copy, just like how jeremie cloned william once before

Actually, William uses Supersmoke to survive in the Digital Sea, which also preserves his soul.

1.1-That's my point exactly. Yumi had no feelings for William beyond friendship and while he had trouble grasping that he never posed a threat to ulrich.
1.2/1.3-I don't see how Ulrich's inability to tell Yumi how he feels and vice versa is William's fault. Don't get me wrong I agree that William and Yumi wouldn't work. But William isn't a bad guy for liking Yumi.
2.-Good point, it is never stated in the show but I think William survived the digital sea due to Xana's controling him. But he is without a doubt freed by the end of the series-that's what happened.
Even if it created a plot hole. However, maybe that's why Jeremy had to make a program to free William when he never had to to free Aelita when possesed.
3. Good point but the behavior of his clone still has almost nothing to do with the real William
3.2-It was in the episode "Fight to the finish" Where William's parents come in. In the begining of the episode they are talking to the clone. However after the Lyoko warriors free William-which is shown on screen- William comes to replace the clone and sets things right with his parents. Besides the visual evidence there is the fact Jeremy never prefected the program for cloning-the new clone would act like the old clone instead of like the real William
