The place is allright... just darker and colder, it's 880 km north of where I used to live. And it's exciting to finally be going to university.

I hope you enjoy university! I can see your winters are going to be very exciting! If the snow is too heavy will you have to miss university? or is your accommodation quite close to it?

I have never heard of anyone I know ever missing school because of snow... up here i guess it could be possible, but as you guessed I live pretty close. About 5 minutes by bike, 10-15 minutes by foot.

aww ^^ hard luck.
we had a day a couple of years back where we got closed for snow. It's less that the snow was a major problem and more that our area was unprepared for it because we're used to a more temperate climate
