Description
On impulse I decided to test out the Jazmine HD skin on Layla. A similar texture worked really well for Warmth . The Jazmine skin is beautifully detailed and refines a lot about Layla's appearance that was blurred by other textures, but whereas some of the previously used skins were too orange when I needed them to be brown, this one is a bit too dark brown when I need it to be a lighter brown. I've said elsewhere that Layla can get pretty dark after a lot of time spent under the sun, so it's not out of character, but it is somewhat inconsistent with my other images. And the weirdest thing: somehow the more African aspects of Layla's features have actually been diminished by switching to Jazmine's texture!Still, this is a cool image, I think, so I decided to upload it (and its companion piece) rather than scrap it.
I'm using Valzheimer's amazing (and amazingly free) RGB HDRi Soft Lights for DAZ .
UPDATE: There's minimal postwork now - minor adjustments to contrast and levels.

You can probably tweak some settings to make the skin look lighter...

I'm looking into that now. There's info floating around about darkening skin tones, but not much about lightening them aside from using PS and/or GIMP. In the meantime I should go back to Kalea 7 . I like the dark, somewhat heavy brows it gives her. I've just had trouble understanding how best to use the texture.

I am sure you have tried it... but just in case, lowering the translucency weight could lighten the result.

Nope! I haven't tried that yet. Thank you. I'm still blundering along most of the time and not afraid to admit it.
