Description
Revisiting (and revising) Ysabel's Genesis 2 model. They don't look the same, the Genesis 2 and 3 versions, so I just think of them as different actresses playing the same role at different times. Genesis 2 Ysabel is a blend of Liu Yan HD and Monique 6 . There's some Victoria 6 and Mei Lin 6 in there because of Liu Yan's settings, but I changed their values. She used to have a bit of Olympia 6, too, but that's the major revision; I took it out and figured out a better way to get the results I'd wanted from that shape. It's the Guadalupe texture by Emma and Jordi , I think, that draws me back to this version from time to time. It makes Ysabel lighter, less coppery than I'd prefer, but I love the makeup and tattoos.I was tempted to make this into another scene like Sugar, Spice, Blood, Ink - maybe with a row of bikes parked outside a club facing the beach - but I don't have the patience for it right now. However, if the game I'm occasionally playing again (World of Warcraft) continues to be buggy as shit and crashing on me, I might give it a shot.
EDIT Sorry to change this up on you, but I started tinkering with her skin shader last night, made some improvements - especially in darkening her eyes - and realized the red background was actually drowning the motorcycle. Everything seems to pop more now and there's no postwork aside from my signature.

I didn't have a chance to comment on the first version, but I do remember it, and agree with your thoughts on the advantages of the changes. Ysabel is Ysabel regardless of the skin you use, and I think I would have recognized her even if you had not mentioned that it's her. I like the dress too. For me it's another detail which tells us that she still has something cute and maybe even childish in her, in spite of all the hardships.

"... still has something cute and maybe even childish in her..."
That is exactly right! One of the jokes for her is that Ysabel often acts more like she's 24 than 2,400. She lives in the moment, follows her passions, and usually makes things up as she goes along. It can get her into trouble and she's aware of the problem, that she sometimes needs to just "grow up," but it's part of her coping mechanism, how she deals with immortality and life in general.
This leads to some funny role reversals when Ysabel enters the Layla series. That's where I was going to debut Ysabel originally. Layla's brain got scrambled in October '99 which is where her series starts. She remembers almost nothing about her past and does not act at all like the Layla Ysabel knew. When they finally meet it's a huge shock for Ysabel, especially because Layla acts a lot more like Ysabel, but aggressive and violent, with none of the class or refinement she used to have. In fact, pointing out the differences between old Layla and new Layla usually makes the amnesiac woman uncomfortable.
So Ysabel ends up saying things like, "Oh, God - I get it now! This is what you went through with me, isn't it?" and "Is this what you were like originally, in the beginning, way back before I met you? Because, wow! You are really short-tempered." And, of course, Layla has no idea what she's talking about.
