WIP WIP hey but high key I want some critique on my art so far? I'm trying real hard to expand my colors/ shadows etc (like this so far vs my bva drawing and? I dunno I'm just not at a happy place with it right now I suppose? (like lmao idk wh it looks like shes in a spotlight but honestly she always deserves to be but thats not the pointI dont have core so please just leave in the comments on here or on my page abt my art/ what can I improve/ what im lacking/ etc. thank you!

Saw this on the front page and was immediately drawn to it for the colors and expression! Gorgeous piece, you've really got the anatomy, lighting and tone on point.
Seeing as you're looking for critique, I'll try to provide some ^-^
One thing I'd like to point out is the layout. The ratio is a little bit off, leaving Padparadscha a little too low on the canvas.
I did a little edit to show you the rule of thirds (sta.sh/2204o0obg01f?edit=1 ) to show how cropping the top just a little will make the piece easier on the eye (from a technical standpoint, anyway). Notice on how the "after" piece the grid's corners line up with the more focal points of the portrait, i.e. the face and the hands instead of the bangs and the sleeve behind the gem.
Other than that, it's difficult to tell whether there's much else to critique, considering this is a wip. If you keep going the way you're going, this is going to be a stunning piece!

ahh i see thank you! I do work on a canvas that's larger than the actual drawing and I just quickly cropped out the rest of it before posting (or else you would of just seen a bunch of references to the side lol) but thank you so much though I'll definitely keep that in mind!
