And Darkness stole upon the Holy Sites, the Exchanges, the Corporate Offices, and, lo, even unto the golf fairways, and the Servants of Mammon were much afeared.

And Mammon was displeased, and sent his Angels, the G20, unto the corners of the Earth to dispense more cash, that total ruin wouldst be banished.

And in the poorest nations of the earth people still starved, and fought each other as they had done for centuries. And in the richest nations the wealthy conspicuously consumed. And Mammon was totally pissed, but even he couldst do nothing in the face of humanity's immense capabilities to completely fuck up.

And the Earth still was dying.
