hmm there is a lot to say, let me first ask you, have you sketched before? Like the traditional kind with still objects? If you haven't, then I recommend you to learn it because it not only strengthens your patience but lets you understand the shading of simple shapes. Shading of complex things like faces are just a lot of simple ones put together. also, for the face, you can add high lights at the inner eye corner, next to the nostril and on top of the lip! I don't know what to say, but I can answer questions! Just ask~ <3

Hair is also made of shapes! It's basically a sphere and you glue prisms on it! You'll understand when you start sketching sculptures! Or you can just search for sculpture photos. It breaks down hair into edges, and when you keep that in mind, it will be easier to draw hair. But actually I just draw it as a "waterfall" falling from the very top of a sphere XD Or, picture hair as ribbons attached to a sphere. Ribbons have a similar texture and shine as hair
