Yuri's every pore was made to be a grifter. She's a chameleon, taking on any role she needs to be, which makes it a shame that she isn't in the Acting Department for her main. She can almost be anyone, from the goody-two shoes who can fool any professor, to the crazy funloving animal who is always present at the hottest parties on the campus. But she's also the one who crushes your heart and soul into a bloody pulp if and when it pays her. She is a chaser, but when batting her lashes won't give her what she wants, she can be quite aggressive, to say the least.

However, she doesn't chase mindlessly. (Although not one of those inhuman planners who have commercial appointments of the next year jotted down in their diary) She is meticulous in her plans or her improvs. She is the owner of an awfully rational mind, which keeps instinctive emotions miles away from her(except for anger and infactuation-), though that does not mean she does not exhibit emotions. Having lived a life that has relied on her conduct and behavior, she has grown to be a cunning and perceptive person in order to react accordingly. She is capable of analyzing those around her by instinct, though also prompting a perpetual mode of wariness and distrust.

In addition to her sly nature, she is a sophophile always hunting for knowledge, which allows her to be open-minded when faced with new information and opportunities, maybe a little too much so to the point of being easily influenced, and finding herself being the devil's advocate often. If you know her well enough, past her built exterior (of modesty), she’s a confused spirit often switching between levels egos. She's only human after all, and like most humans, her primary goal is finding meaning in her short mortal life, her role in her world (or in this world), her worth and everything. She is often haughty and prideful of herself, though she never acts like it. After all, no one likes an arrogant person. But at times she truly belives she is the best, either it'd be skill or beauty.

This causes her to always be comparing herself to other people. Everything becomes a competition. And when she "loses" to other people, whether another girl was ranked to be more attractive then her, or when she feels threatened, as in when one showed skills equal to hers- her ego gets hurt and she spirals into self-doubt before the cycle repeats itself. This type of mindset causes a kind of derealization, where she sees everything almost as a play of some sort. Choices become a game and everyone becomes characters...and of course, she is the protagonist!

But don't worry! To keep a good image of herself she is always kind and ready-to-help-others, showing all her respect to everyone who crosses her path.

Tl;dr: An average friendly person, with bonus of being open-minded. But it's all for show and surface level. Very prideful, but if you prove some sort of threat her ego gets hurt easily, suggesting her confidence is situational. Of course, she doesn't show it and acts very modest. B I O G R A P H YYuri was born to a well off family, in France. Her mother was a small, and unknown pianist, a lovely lady. Yuri knew little of her father, except he seemed to be very wealthy, and had been providing the two living expenses for as long as she remembered. It was because of him they had lived amongst upper-middle class neighbors. Her mother was nothing like her father. She was a hard worker, but worked blindly in the past. She had an usually sharp mind, and was extremely talented in mathematics and numbers, but coming from a northern city near Russia in China's most struggling times, she'd been brought up to be a pianist. Looking back she was set up for failure, as she wasn't born with the type of strong and firm fingers you would need to compete in the pianist world.

Supposedly that was when her mother and father met. Through rumors and little snippets her mother would reveal, her father was one of the largest property developers in Korea. But that was a family business, and so before that he'd been dabbling in violin making. He spent his earlier years in the same college as her mother. They had dated then, but only after graduation her mother became pregnant after they met again- only this time she had been working as a high class escort.

He had remarried the moment Yuri was born. Despite so, they were somewhat close in her younger years as she had been sent to live with her father, by her mother, whose health was too bad to care for Yuri. During that time, being exposed to her father's old passion for art may have ignited Yuri's own passion- but Yuri denies it. Yuri was then sent back and forth between these two households, before settling with her mother at age 6. They moved a lot then, from Paris to Beijing then to Seoul, when finally she'd finished high school. She'd grown to be an extraordinarily skilled artist, and after numerous recommendation letters from the teachers at her visual arts academy her future was very clear -

Until her father shared with her a piece of news.

As it turned out, her father had no other children. He had summoned her to America to begin her "studies". Getting whatever degree that would enhance her ability to one day run the family business. She was to begin her apprenticeship running her dad’s multi-billion dollar empire.
But as she sat across from him that night, there was only sadness that was distinctly visible in her eyes… And immediately he knew what it was. He had gone through the same, felt the same emotion. As the firstborn son of one of the largest developers in the world, his fate was sealed. And now it was Yuri's turn. Alas, she had somehow convinced him to allow her a few years to prove herself. If she could become influential enough- he would have to find another candidate for his throne. To her, she would prove to her father that she was worth it- her fame and fortune would be equal to whatever potential he saw for her in his business. But to him, she was only delaying the inevitable.

Hell bent on proving her worth, she'd enrolled for Haneul College.
