Some say these Meowth come from a hidden realm. They have strange, undocumented powers and the ability to bring out hidden potential. They bring good fortune to those who are kind and misfortune to those who are cruel.

These Pokémon appear randomly in homes on the night of the full moon and refuse to leave. This is how they choose their owner. There are no records of one ever being caught in the wild, although a lucky individual with good night vision might spot one wandering around at midnight. It’s unclear whether this Pokémon takes on the nature and traits of their trainer or if they choose one that already resembles them. Either way, they always share a similar personality to their owner. They are well-liked in communities, partially because Anthenian Houndour and Houndoom flee at the sight of them. It’s considered good luck if one appears to you. However, witches avoid them as their presence alone is enough to make spells go haywire.

The quickest way to win them over is to offer them a saucer of warm milk. Be careful though. If the milk has gone off even slightly, all the food in your house will mysteriously become stale and rotten overnight. They evolve using a Moon Stone at night during a full moon. They tend to walk on all fours but can also walk on two. Although the coin on their forehead is made of wood, they have a strong aversion to every part of the hawthorn tree.
