Humid climates are their preferred habitat. They spend most of their days in the water and will only emerge to gather in groups and sing beautiful songs together.

Description

Evolved from Anthenian Poliwag.

In evolution, these Pokémon have tapped into their previously dormant Psychic abilities. Any attempts to pollute or disturb the body of water they occupy is met with harsh blowback. If they wanted to, they could crush a steel tanker and send it flying into the atmosphere without breaking a sweat. The only way to stop them from doing so is to target the swirled, blue hair on their head. If stunned correctly, they become temporarily unable to use their Psychic abilities.

Even without them, they are still capable fighters. Their piercing song can burst eardrums and disorient even the most focused. Although they can sing a beautiful melody if they choose to, it’s best not to listen to it. People and Pokémon alike have been known to become addled or fall into a deep sleep after hearing it. As physical fighters, they prefer to fight with their tails rather than their fists. The rubbery tail they had as Poliwags split into four upon evolving. They can harden the kelp-like appendages at will, making the edges sharper than high-carbon steel. They can also shape their tails into a propeller and spin it at high velocity to swim faster in the water.

Although it rarely happens, a select few of these Pokémon grow a fifth tail. Other Politoed recognise it as a sign of immense strength and will not challenge that individual for territory or food.
