Description
The Poisonous Mushroom Pokémon
Poison/Grass-type
Pokédex Entry
These fatally toxic Pokémon perch on tree trunks to imitate mushrooms and flee when approached. They feed on fungoid substances that grow between tree roots.
Description
They evolve into Anthenian Toedscruel. An entrepreneur brought Toedscool over from Paldea to create a business selling their mushroom-like flaps. Due to the high population of Murkrow in the country, the first generation was nearly wiped out completely. Even after keeping them indoors, they quickly adapted to their new environment and became Poison-types to avoid being eaten into extinction. After escaping their enclosures and running away, they made shady Jasperwood their home.
Despite this adaptation saving their species as a whole, some foolish Murkrow will still make a meal out of Toedscool. An hour after consumption, the Murkrow will die and subsequently evolve into Ankrow. This bizarre method of evolution was recently discovered after the emergence of the spooky Ghost and Flying-types. Ankrow are rare to find in the wild, since most Murkrow find these Toedscool wholly unappealing.
No one knows if any other Pokémon evolve from eating Toedscool, and no one is willing to test the theory. Authorities advise strongly against capturing them. These Toedscool are banned from competitive sports and have been involved in more than one accidental poisoning after being caught. All documented cases have resulted in death. Rangers patrol Jasperwood year-round to monitor the small population of Toedscool and those that come in contact with them. There is no known antidote to their poison as of this entry being written.
There are rumours that their drastic change into Poison-types had something to do with the thin veil between Anthen and the Hidden Realm. An urban legend states that if one creates an ointment out of Toedscool flaps and applies it to their eyes, they might be able to see the Hidden Realm. Or they could go blind. It’s a coin toss.
