What would I have to do... if I wanted  my first esk to have a bright mask from the very beginning?

How much points do I need?

I just readin' trough the rules so I'm sorry If I missed something.

I'm still a stranger. But I'm very interested!

Hey!

Bright mask is a rare trait, so if you'd like to create an esk that starts out with the bright mask trait you'd need to at least perform a blessed transformation.

If you'd like to give an existing esk the bright mask trait, you'd need to be at the player leve Shrub (1700 AP), and the trait would require 100GP.

On the energy exchange journal you can see the rarity, the needed player level and needed GP for certain traits.

I only have one question.
What would the thing be if the bright color or unusual marking is less then 50%

it would be considered uncommon and would cost fewer points to add to your character

Quick question! Would marking show over the one solid color trait? Like dark mask/stripes ect? Thanks!

witherlings In reply to IBX3 [2017-10-04 15:47:17 +0000 UTC]

Solid color strictly means that the body is all one color, if they have markings then they are no longer a solid color. Hope that makes sense!

It's nice to see so much info about a species!
also just 'cause i'm a lil nitpicky, things can't be part albino because albinism affects the entire body (reduces only melanin). piebalds have leucistic parts on them. (and reduces all pigment not just melanin.)

Do you think partial albino is a good way of describing it in "layman's terms" for the guide or do you think it is better to be more thorough/accurate?

cattings In reply to witherlings [2017-09-13 23:59:18 +0000 UTC]

I think with all the work you've put into Esks thus far it would be better to be accurate!

Vitiligo might be a good way to describe it.

RocWulf In reply to witherlings [2017-09-13 22:53:08 +0000 UTC]

I think leucism would be better. Albino critters would have lighter 'markings' (usually shown as a yellow or cream), whereas leucism removes it entirely, as cattings said. I think if people see the term 'leucism' they'd look it up.

In short, my opinion is that I'd rather see people informed than to further misconceptions/misinformation.

Thank *you* for listening!

By the way, how would one go about joining a group for Esks, or is there one? Can people make their own or is there a system? I can't seem to find a central guide. I'm sure I'm just being stupid and haven't looked in the right place.

ThoseWhoWentMissing

It's an open-ended ARPG, when you reach the second level you can make your own Esk.
