Those textures are amazing, the wounds and the floor look so incredibly real. And the emotions shining out from his eyes - oh my, you really captured the scared look in his eyes.
- Those wounds seem to be quite painful, I hope someone will help him so they heal... Maybe they should change his bandages as well.

The emotion conveyed in his pose is simply astounding- hurt and defensiveness that's hard to miss.
The burn wounds on his skin is incredibly textured, very realistic.
The barred light and black background only heightens the mood.

may i say this really inspired me? Its very good, and i finally have an idea for the new character i was making now ^-^ (i was wanting to create a 'hard to handle' character who wore a muzzle. and a demon-- didnt think about it-- is perfect! ) my original idea was to make a character and add a collar, chains and a muzzle. then i found this in one of my favorite artist's favs and i was over joyed :3 if i ever am able to get a drawing of him, i would love to pop by and show you ^-^
VERY beautiful. I love the dark yet contrasting colours. the burned/cracked/lava skin really is a good touch as well. :3

where clearly you have great skills, and I am not going to assault that. I am going to assault the execution of design and purpose. There is nothing demonic about the character, and if the name of the deviation wasn't Fire Demon I wouldn't have known what it was.

Perhaps the artist was trying to play on the title of Demon, suggesting that the model was some sort of Pariah. The inadvertent use of bandages also hints that the character is injured or wounded or that he has something to hide, also lending to the title of 'demon'.
It doesn't all have to be direct aesthetic ties to the title, it can be deeper than that, (not that you weren't looking deep enough, necessarily.) just perhaps think about it from a literary or psychological aspect.

Perhaps that he's not really a demon, more that he's been labeled that and is being damaged by it in a metaphorical sense.

A demon that is young and therefore can't control its own powers enough not to hurt itself? The eyes don't look human to me, more like a hurt animal (very anime style demon to me), and the collar suggests that it is being controlled or escaped from somewhere...

collar animal eyes, how does this correlate to demons? How am I, the viewer, the audience, am suppose to understand that it is a demon who is young and can't control his own powers? The youth looks nothing like a demon, has no demonic or even remotely scary features that would make me think he is sinister.

Well, classical demons often looked just like human except for one or two features when they were in hiding. And the thing is you have to think deeper about it and make up your own story, sometimes pictures aren't going to spell things out for the viewer and I don't think they always have to :\.

classical demons from which culture? Western civilization demons still had horns, cloven hoofs, elongated faces and facial features, devilish grins. Middle eastern demons resemble more like terrifying toothed djinn, and far east demons are even less human looking. So which classical demons are you referring to?

Without the electric collar, this reminds me of Alessa Gillespie from the Silent Hill series. The lighting is superb. Congrats on the DD!
