Hobby Kyle has a new hobby every other week. He loves trying new things.
History Kyle grew up in Barkshire until he was 9. It was a fairly hostile community with a lot of small-time crimes and vandalism. It was a restless place where rumors spread far more quickly than facts and fingers were quickly pointed in all but the right direction. When he was 9, Kyle’s mother was expecting twins and the family decided to move away from the place they’d always called home. They decided to settle in Zootopia in the hopes of finding a more welcoming place where they could live in peace.
However, Zootopia wasn’t quite how they’d expected. Prejudice and suspicion still followed them, but it was better than their old home, and they stayed put. Kyle mostly stayed indoors, tinkering away with his computer and surfing the web. His parents didn’t think much of it - as long as he stayed out of trouble, it was fine. However, Kyle did get into quite a bit of trouble when hacking - ever the curious creature, he dug deeper and deeper until the authorities couldn’t ignore his actions any longer. By then he was rummaging around in expunged records and classified government information, slipping through layers upon layers of firewalls and encryption with ease. If you can’t beat them, hire them. Kyle was hired by the ZPD to improve their own network security (working for free until he’d paid off his fines), but has since then become their technical analyst.
Personality Kyle is a kind mammal with a lot of compassion, but can often be a bit too shy to express it. He assumes others think negatively of him and tries to stay out of the way most of the time, despite wanting to join in and be a part of everything. He’s a quiet fixer who perhaps doesn’t hand over the wallet someone’s forgotten, but finds out where they live and slips it into their mail slot. If someone’s feeling down, he may buy them something he knows they’ll like and leave it on their desk. He’s at work before everybody else, makes sure there’s fresh donuts and prepares coffee for everyone, slipping into his office before anyone even notices him.
Once he gets to know someone on a more personal level and considers them a true friend, Kyle can relax more. Then he doesn’t shy away from telling a joke or even giving some sass or sarcasm when the opportunity arises. He can talk excitedly about his hobbies, about the book he’s reading or invite his friends over for takeout and board games. He’s still a fairly short ways away from going nervous and klutzy, but still.
He can be a bit awkward when talked to, especially if he’s caught off guard. Fumbling over his words, even a slight stutter can occur when he’s especially nervous. He’s an absolutely terrible liar. When nervous or embarrassed, his nose takes on a rather obvious red hue.
