Yeah, as a photographer I suggest you experiment with light yourself and maybe even try a little photography and above all just experiment. It can be awesome with lighting

For the eyes I started with a bluish base.
I then grouped it with another layer, alpha locked it to the base layer, and I shaded in that.
To shade in it I added a brighter, cooler color near the top, and a darker warmer color near the bottom. At the bottom of the iris you can see a little bit of violet/purple. I then smudged these colors a little bit, but not too much. Ontop of that layer I drew light lines using a wet brush tool for the iris line thingies. I then added stars to the eyes and put the opacity to about 50%. I put the pupils on top of that layer, they are a very dark blue. Then I added the white reflections using a wet brush, again. Finally I used an airbrush to add a bit of glow coming from them, and I used a smudge tool to move it around more evenly and into the positions I wanted it to glow. And there you have it, two pretty eyes. c:
