You can't break
Lines off in the middle of a thought
Or
Use one single word as a line.
Do not even think
About using line breaks to change meanings.
Don't write poetry until
You know all the rules.
And, of course,
Most importantly,
Don't follow the rules.

Considering how old the notebook was that I found this in, it might well have been inspired by either your poem or some of the conversations we had at the time.
