Your compliment really means alot to me, You do an excelent job of showing aspiring artists that it still is possible to capture the humanity in humans... I cant wait to spend the time working on faces

wow this is beautiful, I love this.
The concept of black and white with the trickles of red blood, for me personally, represents Jesus' love for his mother which has been shown literally by dying on the cross for all of man-kind. The fact that she is bleeding red blood shows that by his actions, he has given his mother new life through his own suffering, which is portrayed by the contrasting dark shadow of his blood on his face.
Thank you for creating this beautiful and thought-provoking painting

The detail in this is fantastic. I love the expressions and how you used just the hint of color in the blood. This is a powerful piece.

This is one of the most powerfull images that I have seen in a long time. The contrast in expressions is remarkable. It is very moving to see Marys head pressing lovenly against he sons face and share the pain of the crown. This is a great image of a mothers love for her son. It is also very powerful image of the human side of Christ, his fear being comforted. Excellent work.

Well, I think he had, yes. In the last Holy Week we have here, in my city, into a wonderful barroc church, a concert with my verses sang by a choir, solists, orchestra, dancers, two narrators - VIA-SACRA - and the emotion of the people was more for the suferring of Christ because his conscience that his mission caused crucial suffering to Judas, Peter, Pilatus... and to his mother.

jesus still had nothing to be sorry for.
he saved everyone from eternal damnation.that was his "mission".
if he has to be sorry for that then what was the point?
we should be sorry....if it werent for our sin, he never would have had to suffer.its our fault he suffered....so he has nothing to be sorry for.
he saved us.

he saved us from being eternally damned for our sins.
you dont seem to know much about christianity or jesus for that matter.
you shouldnt try to make an argument about something you know nothing about.

I love his expression. It really gives an insight to the fear and pain he's experiencing whilst he reassures his mother of exactly the same things. I also feel the Madonna's expression here conveys her understanding of God's plan for her son.

π: 0 β©: 1
WJSolha In reply to tinmanthegreat [2005-04-06 10:10:24 +0000 UTC]
Yes, I think we only reach something important if we are honest with ourselves and we lern to see the world and the art with totallity. Chaplin said his secret: to see the world if you are a eternal child. WhatΒ΄s this, father? WhatΒ΄s that, mothert? What are those things, book? What are these things, Art?

tinmanthegreat In reply to WJSolha [2005-04-06 10:18:05 +0000 UTC]
That was the thing with Chaplin, too. He knew his art would eventually die and lose its appeal as taste in comedy evolved, whereas the likes of this will be eternally beautiful.
