The photo transfers uses a method that's easy, but time consuming if you want a good result.
1. Print the image you want onto paper. Must be printed on a laser printer, NOT inkjet, on plain, NOT coated, paper. The image gets flipped when you transfer, so you'll need to flip it in a photo editor beforehand.
2. Coat the paper with a gel medium, varnish, PVA glue or Mod Podge on the printed side, alternatively coat the canvas. Place the paper on the canvas with the printed side towards the canvas. Use a squeegee or similar to squeeze out all the air bubbles and excess medium. The paper might get wet and tear easily, so be careful. Let it dry.
3. Dissolve the paper with a wet cloth rag or sponge. This will take a while. For best results gently wet the paper a little bit at a time until it starts dissolving. If you rub too hard you might lift the image also and not just the paper. You most likely will have to repeat this part a couple of times to get all the paper off.
This works by trapping the toner dust in the layer of medium and then separating the paper. You'll probably have to experiment a little to find the best medium, paper, squeegee combination for you. Too thick a layer of medium, and the more you'll struggle with getting it even when squeegee'ing; too thin and the image won't stick. Too thick a paper, the more work it is to remove it; too thin and the easier it is to tear.
I use Liquitex Gel Medium, haven't tried Polycrilic or Mod Podge, they aren't available here.

You did a very good job with the composition. My eyes are immediately drawn to her eye as the focal point. Well centered, very thoughtful, and the unity of the colors work really well. Nicely done
