I am not a fan of anime per se. I do not dislike it, but it has never been an art form which has particularly appealed to me. I DO like this painting. I enjoy the concept and ideas expressed of spring time and movement which I feel is very much a part of this piece. I enjoy the limited palette of color which shows a balance of warm and cool colors. I feel that this piece of art expresses the transition of seasons from winter to spring. This comes through with the explosion of color of the blossoms in the tree as well as the figure before it. Winter is expressed with the cool colors and yet there is an expression of hope for spring presented by the lotus flowers as well as the shield which offers rays radianting out from the center as if representative of the sun. I shall be adding this to my favorites
