Great work but how did you do those diagonal lines? My pattern always seems slightly off.

Well it's not too hard really.
Start by creating a new image in photoshop, 3 x 3 pixels. Next zoom in a lot and, using the pencil tool, draw 3 black squares diagonally in the direction you want. Next go to Edit --> Define Pattern and give your new pattern a name. You can now close this image (no need to save).
Now when u want to use the pattern, simply create a new layer in the image you are working on and go to Edit --> Fill and and fill the layer with the pattern. Change the opacity to your liking and voila!
