Description As you may or may not have already noticed, this is not a pony, but in fact a lioness named Vitani. =O
I just thought I'd try something different for once, so if you don't like The Lion King you may not want to look at this picture.
I'm not 100% sure about the colors, because if you look at three different pictures of her you'll find four different color schemes and I randomly chose a rather light one, but it should be OK...

Any feedback is appreciated.

Vitani (C) Disney I guess.

Awesome work on Vitani! I love her.
I really liked how her hair is on her. It makes her stand out as one of the main characters.

Wonderful job bro <3

Yeah, Vitani's a tricky one to color, because every scene she shows up in has some whacky color scheme going on. I, myself, use colors that I got from correcting the saturation/hues of a character in a screenshot with her. But the nice thing about her is that's she's so distinct, her exact colors don't matter so much.

I've never seen TLK vectors before, and I have to say it's a good look- I would encourage you to do more

Thanks a lot.

That is true, it really depends on how dark or bright her surroundings are, so it is hard to tell what her "true" colors are.

I think I am going to make more varied stuff in the future. While the next one is likely to be of a pony again I might do more (and if I can manage more original) Homestuck and/or Lion King stuff after that.

Well, at least I'll be trying. Can't promise anything when it comes to original stuff though X(

i think you did great on the colors the rezone you probably saw 3 different pelt colors is that some people prefer to use the colors when she was first shown and that the more pinky cream sunset colors, don't ask me why just some do (witch is weird because nuka and kovu didn't have that problem XP)

Yeah, sometimes she is darker than this, sometimes she is even lighter than this, I simply picked a scheme that I liked.

It would be prettier if you gave her a more original pose instead of tracing a screenshot

Tracing something and calling them a "vector" doesn't make it a vector. It's how you use the vector program with your original arts that make it a true blue vector.

I would disagree with your definition of a vector, since this is a png of a "scalable vector graphic" regardless of its originality. If this is vector art is a different discussion and I definitely agree that original poses are much more creative and often prettier, too. ^_^
However I've never worked with lions before and I would be rather uncomfortable to start of with something original without having a feeling for the style. Plus I may not be totally new to making vector graphics, but I am still figuring out a lot and if you would know what my original art looks like you would agree that it is better that I upload this instead of them.

Thanks for the feedback nonetheless.

The fanbases have watered down the true meaning of the word, now when everyone says vector, others think trace. Because tracing isn't a vector. But you are right about the scaleable vector graphic.

You could very well be correct, but on the other hand the meaning of words can change over time, since they don't have an inherent "true" meaning, but are what we interpret them to be. I would personally consider everything made with a vector program, even if it just a black rectangle, a vector.
