Description
:Updated: - Now completely inked! I will be coloring these in soon as new submissions. This is something I don't do often... or at all tbh, but I finally got around to practicing my sketching on SAI with this pencil setting I acquired from a friend and.. well... To be very frank, I think this looks really good as is! I was amazed how well it all came out. It looks A LOT better than just doing it with pencil and paper, which I have been basically doing since I started submitting to dA... so I guess this is it, a farewell to scanning my pics, and just doing all my sketching on SAI.
That being said, something else also bugs me... and the reason why I decided to upload this is, since, for some odd reason, I don't like uploading sketches to begin with since I like finishing all my work... However, this looks really good as is... and this brings me to what bugs me about how I currently ink, color and shade things.
My question to my fellow artists who use Sai, I ask, what are your methods for inking, coloring and shading in this program? I usually use the pen tool simply since I like the straight line thickness but I am wondering if that is truly the way to go for this sort of thing, like if you feel there is a better way to sort of ink pictures, like maybe various methods with the brush or airbrush tool, please go ahead and say, I would love to hear it. Although, if you feel like what I am doing now is good enough, also do speak up about that too, I would love to hear tips!
Oh and yea, I probably should explain the pic itself. After Christmas, I will be doing a series of female muscle anthro pony pics, if it wasn't obvious enough, as well as some female muscle Adventure Time fanart, so be sure to expect a lot of fanart for the latter part of the month into early January.
Most likely will scrap this later on but I just want to keep it up for now since I felt this was a really good sketch and I want to hear people's thoughts on the piece and any advice they could give me when concerning how I ink and shade stuff in SAI.
Anyways, hope you all enjoy!

She is ironically the biggest, in both size, muscularity and bust.

For sure, she is surprisingly gentle, and that bust of hers would provide such a nice cushion.

OOooooh Fluttershy with huge body... X3 Such power but also hopefully all that gentleness <=3 Unless if we catch her when she goes berserk... then run for the hills, as much good as that'll do...

Just as long as you love her, I don't think she will go berserk.

There is definitely something to this digital sketching thing.
Haha. I was checking out your page and was all like "Huh, is that a DoctorPlaid picture he's uploaded?"
As for Sai advice, the way I work is pretty crap so there's not much to share.

Was so jazzed up by how cool this picture looks, I totally forgot to ask just about how you did it.
So you had a custom brush. How many layers did you end up with? What sort of input were you using? What sort of scale were you working at?
Hope you don't mind the questions. Been trying to teach myself digital sketching as well, you see, and you've shown yourself to be a right dab-hand at it.

actually gave me a custom setting he was fooling around with and it replicates a pencil feel, rather nice if I do say so myself. I only used two layers, a colored background layer, and a sketching layer, I actually meant to do three, one for Fluttershy and one for Rarity but I forgot to do it. I was working on a 1280x900 scale and zoomed out to 75% to get some basic shapes down then zoomed into 100% to finish the sketching.
Hope that helps, and if you have Sai, feel free to ask me for the settings so I can send it to you.

I use a Wacom Intuos 5 tablet, also, here is the link for the custom settings to put in SAI, just remember to create a new pen tool and use these settings: -

She sure is, in both bust and buffness, Applejack and Rainbow Dash are pretty much neck and neck when it comes to muscle mass but are both second to Fluttershy's bigness.

You know that one of your self-proclaimed sources of inspiration posts a fair share of just sketches that get a good deal of views, faves, and comments compared to his fully completed pics. I think it would actually stand out for you to post a sketch like this here and there and leave it as such. For one, they are done quicker and two, you may even get offers from others to do the coloring themselves, assuming you'd be open to that.
In other words, this isn't such a bad idea sometimes. But then again, you can still finish coloring it and perhaps have em both posted. If nothing else, the combined views and everything will be even higher between the two versions of the same picture.
That said, (insert intense positive reaction to sexy pic here).

Well for all intents and purposes, I am just wanting to hear from different artists about tips, though I suppose if it really does become quite popular I guess I could submit more sketches.
