Hmmm...what indeed Sonic?

Yay! I finally got to another page! Gosh! How I missed doing this comic! I'm hoping to finally make some headway on this thing. I started this comic in part for drawing practice which it has been great for, but I ended up really enjoying the story too, even with my concerns on flow in parts and it's so fun to see it come to life! I'm sad enough about the fact I finished my Sonic script writing even though with all 4 stories combined it's a bit over 1600 pages. As long as that is, I was sad to see it end, as I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, but alas! It was a good place to end it... now to just see how far I get with putting that all in a comic...and not think about that too much...

Another reason for this comic was also about understanding Sonic’s personality, especially as portrayed in the games pre Sonic Colors and the Sonic X series, which is more towards the version of Sonic I was going for in this comic and well, all my stories. On that note...

This Story's Sonic/ Personality Notes:

In a YouTube video I came across here www.youtube.com/watch?v=0spRSz… it made some interesting observations on game (pre-Sonic Colors) and Sonic X Sonic's more introverted traits with some things I'd noticed as well. Though one gesture I’ve come across I think is also telling, wasn’t mentioned, but Persis notices and mentions it later on to Sonic, much to his annoyance LOL… So yeah I use OC character Persis not only for people drawing practice but to draw out aspects of Sonic’s personality as well.

I also realized there is some of the Western Sonic in this Sonic as well though. For example, unlike the game Sonic, he wouldn’t be so awkward with hugs. He’d fully embrace Tails back in a hug if Tails come to hug him because he missed him or something like that. You can see that in say the Archie or the AOSTH cartoon series Sonic. Would he still enjoy going off by himself to be alone like the game/Sonic X Sonic though? Yes. Western Sonics, like Boom Sonic, are almost always with someone, and seem less likely to go off to recharge alone like game/Sonic X Sonic. There is some overlap though of course, especially with their confidence.

One the reasons for Modern Sonic’s interactions with Boom Sonic is because then he could open up in a way he normally wouldn’t, since though Boom Sonic differs in some areas from Modern Sonic, he is still A Sonic, and if you can’t be honest and open about what you’re thinking and feeling with “ yourself” then who else can you?

Drawing Notes:

I thought I'd try a manga-ish gray-scale this go round with some Prismacolor colored pencils...more or less! I just hope I can pull off the pages I intend to color! In any case in the panel with Amy about to attack Eggman I was helped by a screenshot from the "Designated Heroes" episode and the bottom panel was helped by photos I took of my willing family who poses for me for this thing...I think most of the hands I still have to take photos for almost all of the hands I draw...
