Description Check it out, I made a Wolf Link figure to go along with my Epona model. This really isn’t a good shot, and you can’t see any of the facial markings. I will try to upload several better shots later on.

Here's the rundown on how I pulled this off.

Kay, first I took a plain timber wolf figure, and layered on a base paint of dark grey. Next, I lightened the grey and painted it on the body to create shading, I kept the back dark and lightened the color as I moved down, giving him a more realistic look. Once I had got the base grey’s in place, I made an even lighter shade (almost white) painted the legs, under belly and throat, and began to work on the markings. Again, I mixed different shades of grey into the markings on his body to make it more real, I even placed a light layer of brown in there.

From there I moved on to the facial markings, using a very fine brush I painted on the sharp edges on his cheeks, then I worked on the diamond pattern in his forehead.

As I had been working on the paint job, I had also been working on the ankle lock. I took a regular pen cap and oozed Hot glue all around the circle, once it dried, I carfuly peeled it off, and viola, I had the chain that held Link in the early prison. The chain is simply pipe cleaner with the felt torn off and twisted into circles. His earrings are small twists of rubber encased metal.

So, what do you think?

It's a figure I bought from a store and painted to look like Wolf Link. The neck fur is (poorly done) hot glue, as is the maniacal around his leg, and the earrings and chain are craft wire,

Hardly a masterpiece, I simply customized a wolf figure I bought by painting it and shaping the chain.
Details are listed in the description.
I'm glad you like him so well.

This particular model is Safari brand wolf figure from the 1990's and is now long retired, I was fortunate enough to find it at a local store that carries such things, but I have not seen it around for a long time. You could try searching ebay now and again, but it may be pricy due to its rarity. There are other good quality wolf figures from safari, however, and they are easily found on Amazon. I hope that helps.

I made shiranui from okami with the same figurine model! I wasnt copying your idea though...

Wolf--Shadow In reply to minishcapsuperfan [2012-01-29 18:22:31 +0000 UTC]

It's not the most original idea in the world, so it's not like I could get mad even if you had copied. XD
It's a great figure for custom work, I've seen several different ones over the years and I’m sure there’ll be more.

It's a neat wolf figure, there didn't used to be many of those avalible, now you can find a bunch of good ones.

That looks so cool!
But I have a question. How do you do it? What material? And you do it all by hand? Would interest me very much

Wolf--Shadow In reply to SaidyWolf [2011-11-16 20:26:59 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much.
Really, most of this was a simple repaint. I had a old timber wolf figure that I took, used hot glue for the 'mane', repainted him in Wolf Link's colors, then used some more hot glue for the cuff, and pipe cleaner for the chain and earrings.
I didn't make the figure at all, (I'm terrible at sculpting anything besides hot glue) and the paint I used was just a standard brand acrylic.

Very nice i did the same thing with some of mine, Although the only one that has full detail is mine i did of my wolf character, I didnt really add much detail to them, But you did very good on this, I like customizing my wolf figures May i ask what type of paint you used? Im not sure if i used the right one, but i used Acrylic Paint,

Wolf--Shadow In reply to TripleMoonStudios [2011-09-19 16:24:06 +0000 UTC]

Just different kinds of acrylic paint, a good brand that I'd recommend is Reeves, they're pretty good quality for a good price.

Wolf--Shadow In reply to doubleomyomy [2011-06-18 17:31:00 +0000 UTC]

Mmmm... Could just be that the picture makes it hard to see.
I used the official artwork for a reference when I painted him rather than an in-game screen shot, so this might vary from what you see in Twilight Princess.

Oh my goodness, this is AMAZING!!! I had originally saw your Ammy wolf, and when I scrolled down to read the description, I saw that you had Okami, Oblivion, and Zelda. *gasp* Those are some of my favorite games of all time!! <3 <3 You did a fantastic job on all the models!!!!

Thank you kindly.
I collect all kinds of cool figures from all kinds of different obsessions.
Unfortunately, very few of the great video games ever get their own toys, so I sought to rectify that.
I’d never imagine they’d be so popular.

I bought it from a local store that is dedicated to wolves, though it can sometimes be found on eBay as well.
I think it’s by ‘Safari’.

I have a little timber wolf model just like that, but I'd never be able to do that!

How'd you do the earring?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Wolf--Shadow In reply to Krystal447 [2009-02-11 23:15:39 +0000 UTC]

I have little pieces of copper wire that are encased in colored rubber lying about my desk. They came from an old craft set I got many years ago.

It really wasn't that hard, just a few layers of paint, hot glue, glaze, and voila, Wolf Link figure.
