A Lion King AU that involves my lionsona and family.

In this AU, Manga, her mother, Lulu, and sisters, Avanna and Kanzi, are on the move after escaping Avanna and Kanzi's father, Ahriman, who has found out that Manga was fathered by another lion, Adofo, who has already passed. While traveling, Manga's family finds themselves in the Pridelands, which is still rich with greens and animals. While passing through, the family is found by Sarabi and her hunting party and are taken back to Pride Rock to rest and eat. By this time, Scar has taken Zira as his queen and they have had Nuka, who is only a bit older than Manga and her littermates. After some pleading from Sarabi, Sarafina, Nala, who is in her early teens at this time, and Lulu, Scar allows the family to rest at Pride Rock, much to Zira's dismay. In all honesty, Scar also wanted to get his son off his back and hoped the three cubs could provide him with company. Nuka also wasn't found of the four strangers, mainly a particular sassy and loud-mouthed reddish-brown cub. Sooner or later, after some arguing, Manga and Nuka end up fighting, running and rolling their way into the cave of Pride Rock, were Scar and Zira had hidden themselves away to discuss their fertility issues that had come up after Nuka's birth. Scar goes to snap at the two to get out, but stops upon closer inspection of Manga, realizing the young female looks oddly similar to his late mother, Uru. Later, Scar offers Lulu a permanent stay at Pride Rock for her and her cubs if, and only if, she agrees to the betrothal of Manga and Nuka, despite Zira's pleas for another chance of giving him a healthy cub. After some thinking, Lulu agrees to the terms, wanting her cubs to have the best lives and the small hope that Scar would forget about his condition. He doesn't. As Manga and Nuka get older, Scar and Zira start teaching them the roles of king and queen, Zira more resistant than Scar. After Nala escapes the Pride Lands, with Manga's help, Scar announces that Manga and Nuka are to start trying for an heir as soon as possible. Lucky for the two, their hate for each other slowly turned into a friendship over the years and started blossoming into a beautiful relationship. Scar's plan didn't last long because not too long after that, about a month, Nala returned with Simba and defeated Scar. When Zira and her followers were exiled, Manga tried to go with Nuka, but was stopped by her mother and sisters, her family pleading with to stay. After, Manga tried to get Simba to let Nuka stay, but he wouldn't allow it, fearing the young male would betray him like Scar did Mufasa. And, with that, the young lovers were separated from each other. Not too long after that, Rafiki revealed to Manga that she was expecting and soon after, Nala's was announced. But, unlike Nala, Manga kept her pregnancy a secret from everyone, minus Rafiki, until the day she gave birth to two cubs, a boy and a girl. When Simba found out, he demanded that Manga either leaves with her cubs or gives them up to another pride, claiming since they are Scar's kin, they probably carry the same evil in them. Manga argued that Simba was just as much Scar's kin as her cubs were. After some convincing and pleading from Nala, Simba backed down and allowed Manga and her cubs to stay. Manga later names her cubs Vitani, meaning demon of war, symbolizing the hardships she and the pride went through under Scar's rule, and Kovu, not after Scar, but after the heartbreak she'd gone through after Nuka was exiled and the healing she was going through. A few weeks later, Kiara is born, bringing in more light to shine down on the Pridelands and banish the last of the evil Scar had left behind.

A lot of things will change in this AU. Unlike the movie, Simba won't hate/fear Kovu as much seeing as he watched Kovu grow and became a father figure to the young cub. In the scene where Kiara sneaks off into the Outlands, it's actually Kiara, Vitani and Kovu who sneak off and run into Nuka, who at first thinks all three are Simba's cubs. The croc attack still happens though and, despite the hate Nuka feels towards Simba, he helps save the cubs and finds out Kovu and Vitani are actually Manga's cubs, leading to him finding out he's a father. Instead of Zira training Kovu, she trains Nuka, making him believe Simba has brainwashed Manga into keeping his cubs from him when in reality Manga had no idea where Nuka had gone or how she could tell him. When Nuka sets the fields on fire, it is with the intent to kill Kiara, but he stops once he sees Kovu and Vitani coming to her aid, not wanting any harm to come to his children. In the scene where Simba is taking to Kovu, he is now talking to Manga, who is trying to convince Simba into letting her go talk to Nuka and convince him to stop listening to Zira, but they are still attacked. Upon realizing Zira is also ordering an attack on Manga, Nuka switches sides and defends his long-lost lover, meaning they are able to escape before falling into the gorge, leading to Nuka living. The rest of the story basically goes along with the movie, minis the fact that Nuka is alive and on Simba's, leaving Zira with no kin to fight alongside her. Kiara and Zira still fall into the gorge and Zira is killed, but this time, Simba and Nuka both jump into the gorge and Nuka allows Zira to fall to her death after the tries to pull Kiara down with her. So, when the story ends, Manga and Nuka are finally reunited, Nuka gets to know his children despite missing their childhoods and Kiara and Kovu become the new king and queen, Rafiki, Simba, and Nuka introducing four new cubs to the animals of the Pridelands.
