Let's start with Spyro. I know that Crash was made by Cortex so I know a little more about him. But Spyro I barely know...other than he's a Purple Dragon. XD

Ok then, Ill start with Original/Reignited Spyro, since hes the first one.


He has powers youd expected for a dragon, fire breath, flight, charging into things, you know. He can also be "Supercharged" to make him fly properly, shoot out balls of fire, be invincible and more. Later on he gains even more breath attacks, including ice, water, electricity, wind and..... Bubbles. He can also uses magic spells apparently, although Ive never seen him do it. Probaly from one of the handheld games.


As for his history, Ill only go over his main stories, as im not sure if the side games (and his crossover with Crash) are canon.

Anyway, first off we have "Spyro The Dragon". The games plot is pretty simple (as are most of the plots of the OG series), a Gnorc called "Gnastly Gnorc" freezes ever dragon, bar Spyro, in cystrals cause one of them called him ugly. He also steals all their gems and its up to Spyro to get em all back, free all the dragons and defeat Gnastly. Which he does. He also finds 12 dragon eggs.The story ends with Spyro doing an interview, were he says his fight with Gnastly "was a good fight", only for all the Dragons to be frozen again, by Gnastly most likely, and Spyro runs off to free then all again.


Next is "Spyro 2: Riptos Revenge!" Which features my favourite villain from the series as a whole. We start off with Spyro and Sparx (his dragonfly friend) wondering will the bad, rainy weather ever stop. So they decide to go to a realm called Dragon Shores. Buuut the portal they were going through gets hijacked, and they are brought to a place called Avalar instead to take out Ripto. Their we need a range of need characters, The Professor who is a mole, Hunter the Cheetah, Elora the Faun, Moneybacks the bear (Who is a greedy whore) and our main villian, Ripto. A dinosaur like creature who HATES dragons and has take over Avalar. So Spyro must save Avalar from Ripto, get its treasures back amd gather power orbs so he can power a protal to take him home when all is done (the portal he came throww was destoryed). Which he does.


Now we have "Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon". In this game, an evil woman called The Sorceress (Must have thought long and hard about that name) sends her minions to gather all the Dragons eggs from Spyro lands. They succed and Spyro must go to the Forgotten Realms, 
the dragons old home, to get all the eggs back. The Sorceress wants the dragons because the magic in the forgotten realms is fading and if it all goes, she goes too. She also wants to use the dragons magic to make herself immortal. During the event Spyro makes even more friends, including including Sheila the Kangaroo, Sgt. James Byrd the flying Penguin, Bentley the Yeti, Agent 9, the Monkey, and Bianca the rabbit, who worked with the Sorceress but turned against her. All 150 eggs are saved and Ghe Sorceress is defeated. Its alos revealed that Elora the Faun has feelings for Spyro. Despite the fact that, you know, they completely different species XD


Next we have "Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly". During this game the Dragonfly Festival is tsking place, where young dragons (the ones that hatched from the eggs in 3) are gonna get their dragonfly partners. Unfortunately, Ripto returns and uses his magic to scatter thr dragonflies across the realms, purely to fuck with the dragons since he hates em so much. Spyro tracks em all down and beats Ripto once again.


Finally we have "Spyro: A Heroes Tail". Where the Dragon Realms are plunged into darkness by the fallen Dragon Elder, Red. Spyro has to work to free the realms from his darkness and ends up battling old foes (like Gnastly), but in the end he ends up defeating Red and saving the Dragon Realms.


And yeah, thats it sorta. Theyre sides games, but im not sire if they are canon or not. Got any questions let me know


Oh and fun fact, Snopp Dog loves Spyro. Got the Reignited Trilogy and completely it. He also got a... What ye call it... A Drone I think that looks just like Spyro. Oh and his favourite db character is Gogeta, the original one.

But for a quick run down of the other games:

Sypro: Season of Ice has Sypro saving the Fairies from an evil Librarian, who had froze them all in ice.

Spyro 2: Season of Flame has Ripto return again and scatters the dragonflies throughtout the realm- WAIT A MINUTE. (Noth seasons games take place after Spyro 3, but before Enter the Dragonfly)

Spyro: Attack of the Rynocs (Rhino people) has Rynocs take over the professor's lab, with Spyro trying to get it back fro, the Rynocs. This takes palce after Enter the Dragonfly.

Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy had Ripto and Cortes team up to take out their enemies. Both disguise their minions as Crash amd Spyro, as to make the real Crash and Spyro fight each other since both think the other is a villain. Both wise up, realize they are both heroes and take out Cortex and Ripto. This also takes place after Enter the Dragonfly.

Fianlly we have Spyro: Shadows Legacy. The entire world is taken over by a shadowy figure only called "The Sorcerer". He takes over using the power of shadows he gained from the shadow realms. Spyro ventures into the realms, frees all those imprisoned there and fights Red once more. Its revealed Red has been a pawn his hold time, having been mind controlled. Red joins forces with Spyro and Spyro learns that the Sorcerer himself is not just a dragon, but a purple dragon like him. He is defeated, Red is welcomed back to the side of good with open arms and the world is saved. This takes place at the end of the original timeline and now that I think about it... Yeah, I hope this is canon.

Ok here we go


So first, abilities. Legend Spyro can do everything OG and Skylander Spyro can dol but better and more added on. He has the best combat ability out of them all, knowing actaul moves and combos. He can use fire, ice, electricity and earth elements to attack (Avatar confirmed) and he can also control time to a degree, the ability is called "Dragon Time". He also has Elemental Fury attacks, area of effect attacks for each element which all act as Ultimate moves.

He also has access to an energy called "Aether", the power of fate made real (or something along those lines) and is the joint most powerful form of energy in Spyros world. Its power is comparably to an Atom Smasher of real life. An Atom Smash is basically a real life tool used by scientists. For an idea of how strong the tool is, imagine Wolverines metal skeleton, which can cut through anything, made into a very thin lazer you cant see. Spyros Aether breath which is just as strong? Big as Spyros head, or even bigger than his whole body depending on how hes using it. Imagine that hitting... Well, anything. Yeah wont be fun for the things getting hit.
The Aether power can also purify others, call upon the spirits of other Purple Dragons and apparently cut throught fucking dimensions. Oh and another thing about Aether. When the world of Spyro was literally ripping itself to pieces and floating off into space, Spyro used Aether to forcefully pull the entire world back together. Some bits of earth still floated, but overall the planet was back to normal.


Now, you may have noticed I said Aether is the joint most power energy in Spyros world. Its rival is its Dark counterpart, Dark Aether. It works the same as Aether, but more violent, somewhat more powerful, and can pretrify enemies (make them stone). Both forms of Aether can use Elemental Fury attacks.

Also, a thing to note about Spyro is that him being a purple dragon is unique in the Legend canon. As a Purple Dragon is born once ever 10 generations and can master any and all elements. That means Spyro could master much more than Fire, Ice, Electricity and Earth. Cynder in the last game can use Poison, Shadow, Fear and Wind (wind being implied to be her natural element, aka she is a wind dragon) so since Spyro is a purple dragon, he could easily master all these as well and more.

Indeeeee and that he is. Oh and I forgot to say he also has the form Dark Spyro. He take the form when hes corrupted by Dark Aether or becomes enraged and all his abilities get cranked up to 11. But he cant get out of the form again unless a loved ome calms him down.



And now, history! Hold onto your butts theres alot of shit to go over here, so I will try and compress it XD


Spyros story starts with "The Legend of Spyro, A New Beginning" when he is just an egg, being Guarded by the 4 Guardians. Dragons who train need dragons and help then learn what it is to be a dragon. These dragons are Ignitus, the Guardian of Fire and Spyros future father figure. Cyril, Guardain of Ice. Volteer, Guardian of Electricity and Terrador, Guardian of Earth. They also fight against The Dark Master, Malefor, the first ever Purple Dragon who became warped and twisted by Dark Aether and has since gained master of the power (to the point he can mix it with other elements, eg. Dark Aether Fire) and he had amassed an army of Apes, its leader being Gaul, the Ape King.

The ape forces attack the sanctuary where the Guardians protect the eggs and care for newborns. Ignitus manages to save Spyros egg by sending it down a river to safety. Unfortunately the Guardians were overun by the apes numbers and the rest of the eggs were smashed by the Apes, ending all their lives before they could even start. Ignitus managed to escape, living the rest of his life in exile for his failure to save his comrades or the unborn children. Unknown to Ignitus, one egg was spared. Cynders egg. She was taken by Gaul and using the power of The Dark Master, corrupted her into a violent dragon. Ignitus describing her a, a monstrous, massive, ferocious black dragon that fills the skies with terror, and unstoppable force of nature. And she has been hunting Ignitus ever since she was corrupted by Malefor.

Back with Spyros egg, he was founf and then raised by a family of Dragonflies, having a brother called Sparx who was hatched the same day. Spyro lived a happy, quite life in the swamps, but all that changed when the apes found him. Spyro, trying to defend Sparx who was about to be crushed, unleashed fire. After taking out the apes, Spyro was told by his family he was adopted (How he couldn't tell that already is beyond me), so Spyro went out to find his own kind to see waht he really was. Sparx came with since he couldn't leave his brother alone.

They eventually find Ignitus, hidding in the swamps far away. Ignitus tells Spyro just what he is and his own story about thr Guardians and the assault on the Sanctuary.  Spyro, not wanting to give up like Ignitus seems to have had, wants to fight back. So, Ignitus agrees, if they can take Back the Sanctuary. Which they do. Ignitus then teaches him everything he knew about fire before sending him off to Dantes Freezer. A frozen land covered in the undead who were soemhow frozen in the middle of a war. There they would find the imprisoned Volteer and free him, after dealing with tue powerful Ice King first.

Volteer then taught Spyro everything he knew about Electricity before Spyro left for Tall Plains. A topical land high above the clouds were Cyril was being held by the lands God, The Stone Sentinel. The God is defeated and Cyril is freed. Cyril teachs Spyro the power of ice and also informs the group that Cynder had been draining his power into some form of crystal,  which was the dame for Volteer and most likely why she hunted Ignitus, to drain his power as well.

Then Spyro left for Mjsoam, a mine underneath an active Volcano which was read to blow any minute. Spyro had to defeat The Conductor and his train, Steamy before freeing Terrador. Unfortunately thats when Cynder started chasing Spyro down. Ignitus then appeared and battled Cynder, but ultimately lost and was taken away to have his power stolen. Terrador taught Spyro all he knew of the power of earth before Spyro went off to face Cynder in her tower.

Before Spyro could reach Ignitus however, he had to deal The Electric King. Unfortunately before Spyro could free Ignitus and destory thr Crystal draining his power, Cynder attacked. Before the battle can conclude she takes the crystal. Ignitus reveals she wants to use the power of the Guardians to free Malefor. As he explains this a portal opens in the sky, Ignitus believing it is too late. But Spyro doesn't care and flies off into the portal to confront Cynder and maybe even the Dark Master.

Spyro appears in the void of Convexity. A shadowy void, a realm between realms where The Dark Masters prison remains. Spyro battles Cynder just after she places the last Crystal. The battle is hard and Spyro unlocks the power of The Aether. He begins bombarding her with his Aether breath (Which is a testament to her durability, taking what is bascially an oversized Atom Smasher to the everything over and over again) and she is finally defeated when Spyro uses Elemental Aether Fury on her. Ripping holes in thr dimensions and calling forth the spirits of Purple Dragons to purify her of Malefors evil. She reverts to her true self, showing she is actaully the same size and age of Spyro. But it did not matter. The portal of Malefors Prision... Was open.

 But the battle had made the portal unstable and was making the whole dimension collapse. Spyro flew off, carrying Cynder back out of the dimension. But before he couod get out, all he heard was a voice following him, closely. All it said was;

Spyro.

Spyro turned to find... Nothing. He then escaped and returned to the Sanctuary.  Spyro had lost alot of his power in the battle, so much so he could hardly lift his head. But Ignitus siad they would return, in time. And so, they celebrated Spyros victory, even though Cynder didnt believe she belonged.

Unknown to them all, Malefors soul had followed Spyro, but due to the Convexity dimension collapsing, it distorted Malefors soul, causing it to become trapped in his old fortress, The Well of Souls. The had bascially jumo from on Prision to another. And thats the end of "The Legend of Spyro, A New Beginning".

Yes, yes it was XD Honestly he probably would, his goal is to end the world after all XDD



Annnd now we move on to the next part of Spyros history! XD

Next we have "The Legend of Spyro, The Eternal Night". This takes place not long after the first game, a few weeks. We begin with Spyro and Sparx following Cynder around the grounds of the Sanctuary at night, wondering what shes doing. When they catch up to her she claims she is leaving and that she doesn't belong here after what shes done. She leaves and before Spyro can follow, he collapses. He reawakens in a world of dreams and hears the voice of a dragon known as "The Chronicler". The Chronicler gives him the power of fire once again AND the powee of dragon time. He then tells Spyro to seek him out. Spyro awakens to find the temple under invasion from apes once again. But, the natural wild life of the area is proving challenging, so much so its somehow safer inside the Sanctuary with 4 Guardian dragons than outside. 

After stopping the invasion, Ignitus trys to figure out were Cydner has gone, but instead sees Visions of Spyro under a strange tree (forgot to say thats how Ignitus knew where the Guardians were in the last game, visions). Spyro then tells him about The Chronicler talking to him, causing the Guardians to worry, as they know the Chronicler is a powerful dragon whos tale usually is in sink with Doom. Despite this, they send Spyro to find this tree and The Chronicler, as this invasion of Apes means Malefor is still active and the wise dragon could help. And if Malefor is using his old base, The Well of Souls, he could bring himself back. Thanks to the fact that the two moons are going to be eclipsing soon, and bring about the "Enteral Night". A time when souls of the dead wander our world and if a soul is strong enough, like Malefors, can bring themselves back to life.  

So Spyro goes to the Ancient Grove, the place where the tree might be and does actually find it. But he falls alseep again to gain his powers back thanks to The Chronicler, this time being ice. Unfortunately, that tree anit no normal tree. Its actaully The Guardian Deity of the Grove, Arborick, who sees Spyro as an enemy (this is because a group of rogue apes, called the Skavengers, have been attacking it all day. So it thinks Spyro is one of them). Spyro defeats the tree god, but is then attacked and beaten by the Skavengers captain, Skabb. Skabb had been trying to catch Arborick all day, as he wanted to use him in a Gladiator arena for entertainment. But since Spyro beat him, he decides to take Spyro instead.

Spyro fights many in the arena, also regaining his earth powers again in dreams, and finds Cynder in the arena as well. Before the two can really do anything, Malefors Apes invade and attack the Skavengers. In the confusion Cynder is captured,  Spyro takes on Skabb, beats him and flies off. During the flight he falls unconscious once again. Falling onto a passing whale. During the time The Chronicler gives him control of Electricity again. When Spyro awakens he discovers the whale has brought him to The Chroniclers land, The White Isles. So Spyro ventures in. He overcomes many challenges, even an elemental dragon in the shape of Corrupted Cynder, and finally meets the Chronicler. He tells Spyro of Malefor and his origins and wishes for Spyro to stay with him, to wait out the storm of darkness that was coming, but Spyro said no, he wanted to save Cynder. So with The Chroniclers knowledge and blessing, he travelled to the Well of Souls to save her.

Spyro makes his way to the top of the Well, also known as the Mt of Malefor, and confronts Gaul, with Gaul using a staff to drain all of Spyros power once again. But then, The Eternal Night begins and Spyro is consumed by Dark Aether, becoming Dark Spyro. He annihilaties Gaul, reducing him to dust. But the conflict caused the Mountain to begin to collapse. Spyro, freed from his darkness by Cynder and Sparx, uses Dragon Time to make a cystral around them, saving them from the mountain crushing them, but freezing them in place for the time being. Unknown to them, Malefor had returned to the land of the living during the conflict. Malefor was free, and the world was his to take, or destory. Thus ends "The Legend of Spyro, The Enteral Night".

I already brought it up but since there has been such an info dump here, its no surprise you forgot XD And he normally can move throught it very easily, since Dragon Times main use is slowing time. Its just he used it that time to freeze everyone to save them from being crushed by a mountain.

Alright letsa go!

The final game, "The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon", start 3 years after "The Eternal Night". A new breed of enemies, called Grublins, created from the Earth by Malefor, appear inside the ruined Well of Souls to break Spyro, Cynder and Sparx out of the Crystal they were trapped in. When released, these enemies put "Glowing green snakes" around Spyro and Cynders neck, causing them to be linked together, not being able to go to far form each other. Sparx is left behind to be found by Hunter of Avalar, who has been tracking the young dragons for some time.

Meanwhile, Spyro and Cynder awaken in a dark area, wondering what happened to them. Spyro notices that Sparx is not with them, but cant worry about that now, as the Brublins begins to attack them. They are soon attacked by a powerful Golem, a beast form deep beneath the earth that only appears in the need times, where ti and its kind shall wipe the planet of all life to give way for a new world. They cant defeat the beast and escape it when Hunter finds them and comes to their rescue. Sparx reunites with Spyro. They encounter the Golem again and mange to remove its arm.

When they escape the Well Of Souls,  Hunter explains that Malefor has returned and has been wrecking havoc on the planet for 3 years. It is also revealed that the apes who once served Malefor have been cursed to wonder the world has spectral creatures, forced to remain in the dark for eternity. This is due to their many failures.

Eventually they make their way to the Dragon City of Warfang, where Ignuits and the other Guardians are waiting. But the city is under siege by all sorts of monsters, including the Golem form before. Spyro and Cynder do their best to help, they reunite with the Guardians and manage to take out the Golem after a few battles (This is no small feat, as a single punch from the Golem has been calculated be equal to a fall from orbit at least).

Unfortunately this is not the end, as Malefor revives the mighty Destroyer, an ancient monster whos sole purpose is to bring about the end of our world to make way for the next, like the Golems, except the Destroyer is like a Golem on Godzilla steroids.

After a mighty battle the Destroyer is seemingly beaten and killed, that is until Malefor resurrects it one more time and it finally being the process of ending the world, by driving itself into a volcano, which will then erupt with new found power and burn the world. The only way to win now was to take down Malefor and hope killing him would kill the Destroyer, stopping the eruption.

Unfortunately the fires that surround Malefors castle are to strong for even a dragon to make it through. Ignitus uses all his power to protect both Spyro and Cynder from the flames, but it is not enough. Ignitus, using the last of his power, blasts Spyro and Cynder to the other side of the flame to safety and then succumbs to the dark fire and dies. Spyro, in a rage of losing what was basically his father figure, becomes Dark Spyro, but Cynder manages to snap him out of it. They finally confront Malefor.

Now, only one Spyro series left (If you could call it his anyway), Skylanders. Unfortunately I dont know near as much about this Spyro (Or Spyros) as I do the other two, doesn't help that theres about 2 or 3 different versions of the Skylanders history, from the games, the handheld games, the comics and the tv series. Soooooooo I'll only really go over his abilities, a bit of his history, and the Cynders and Malefors of the Skylanders series... So basically I'll tell you all I know, how that sound? XD

Ok, so first off all the Spyros from Skylanders all seem to have some things in common with Legends Spyro, being that they are all rare, purple dragons. They all can use all the elements as well, but the Skylander Spyros all seem to mainly use fire, as they are most comfortable with it. And if there is a Sklyander Ignitus, them all using fire makes alot more sense, since they'd all be using the element of their father figure.
Eventually Master Eon, a Portal Master and leader of the Skylanders, asks Spyro to join the team, which he does, quickly jumping through the ranks and becoming the teams leader under Eon (The TV Version isnt quite there yet, as he is still in Skylander Academy). Also, its said Spyro was born in a land far away from Skylands' furthest borders, his homeland is a complete mystery. Something these Spyros have over Legend Spyro is that they can actually control their Dark Forms pretty damn well... Well, all except the TV version, who can't and was even split in two beings, one good one evil, with the evil one seemingly dieing in their final battle.

And heres something cool. In Skylands, the greatest Skylanders get Statues made of them, but if Skylands falls under threat and the Skylanders just arent enough to take the threat out, these Statues of the Skylanders come to life and jump straight into battle. The Cynders actually have origins very similar, if not the same, as the Legends version. Kidnapped as eggs, corrupted by their respective Malefors, seen as horrid forces of nature by all, freed by their Spyros. But no romance is hinted at. BUT, her TV version is very different. In this version, she is actually Malefors daughter (More on Malefor later) and runs away from home to join the Skylanders, as she doesn't want to be evil like her father, but she does still love him and him her.

As for her powers, she again is just like her Legends self, but not as good. But she makes up for it with Lightning Breath, summonable ghosts and psychic powers, not overly strong ones, but psychic powers none the less. OH and shes also a Undead Violet Dragon, Violet ones are known to be Inherently Evil. And just to clear it up, she is called Undead, but isnt actually undead. She just has darker powers that undead use and she calls an undead realm home, despite being very much alive. All this is the same for TV Malefor, he is also an Undead Violet Dragon. I guess you could put it as "Undead" Violet Dragons. Undead in name, not in body.



And now the Malefors. Ooooooooo the Malefors. One thing that everyone can agree on is that Skylanders Malefor was done very well (Ok well some dont like the TV version and how the other Malefors are beat but eh, cant please everyone).
Malefors origins are somewhat similar to his Legends self (Some even thinking he IS the Legends version, which in some ways is believable.). He is the first Purple Dragon of the era but this time instead of wanting to destroy all, he wishes to rule all. He was "Sealed away deep within the earth" eons ago (Reference to Legends Malefors fate being sealed inside the planet?) but thanks to his minions, he manages to steal the power of Spyro, Cynder and another Skylander named Hex to resurrect himself into the living world (I should note Hex actually did try to fight Malefor eons ago, but she ultimately died and became a real undead in the process, not even being able to faze Malefor). Thanks to all his time being sealed away, he has gained the powers of an Undead and is dubbed the "Undead Dragon King". He then goes on to battle all the Skylanders.

And he FUCKING DESTORIES THEM ALL. ALL OF THEM. Do you know how many Skylanders that is? Thats.... Thats...... Ehhh.... (Looks it up) .... 350! Malefor destroyed 350 powerful Skylander warriors all by himself without a single damn scratch! Fuck and theres a fair few Skylanders well stronger than Spyro (As in "I can destroy whole armies of superpowered giant robots easily" strong) and he rekt them all zero difficulty. Unfortunately he would be defeated in a rather stupid way. An extremely large anchor is tied to is tail while he is immobilized by magic, the Achor was then tossed over the edge of the island and Malefor was dragged off with it, falling for god knows how long away from Skylands. A sad end, would have preferred something better, but oh well, cant do much about it now.

OH and I forgot to say that this Malefor actually knows Spyro, dispite the fact Spyro doesn't know him at all. Malefor even says they've fought before but Spyro has no memory of this (A reference to Malefor fighting Legends Spyro? Maybe Malefor is mistaking Skylands Spyro for Legends Spyro?). As for his power, this/these Malefor are capable of everything the legends one is, except they are actually bigger. BUT, he can't fly properly anymore by himself, as being imprisoned seems to have damaged his wings. He now uses metal bladed wings to achieve some form of flight, but not as good as a normal dragon.


Now for TV Malefor. Like I said before, he is Cynders father and an "Undead" Violet Dragon instead of the usual Purple Dragon and does love his daughter (Even wishing he could be a better father, but still not wanting to abandon his heritage, which mean a lot to him). He rules over Cadaverous Crypts, an undead realm and hoped for Cynder to take his place, until she betrayed him of the Skylanders. This did hurt him, alot, but at the same time he had a sense of Pride for her. This didn't stop him from fighting the Sklanders a few times tho. The fact his daughter is apart of the Skylanders is one of the reasons he never really seems to go all out on the team, but thats just a theory running around.

As for powers, he only has powers over undead magics and of fire, but because hes so big (Biggest Malefor yet) his flames are very powerful. He also seems to have a "Supercharged" mode, where his body pulses yellow and orange like OG Spyros body does when he gets Supercharged.


And yeah, thats all I know for Skylanders Spyro XD Oh and fun fact, you already know Crash and Cortex crossed-over with Skylanders, but so did Coco in the TV series AND so did Bowser and Donkey Kong in the games and comics, being dubbed "Hammer Slam Bowser" and "Jungle Beats Donkey Kong". They both also got "Superchargers", very powerful vehicles.
