Anyone who knows about SCP (Secure. Contain. Protect.) probably knows who the Big Angel guy in this scene is, or at least what the stand in is supposed to be.

Boys and Girls may I introduce to you The Gate Guardian aka Uriel The Seraphim and anyone who knows of The Archangel Uriel knows that he guards the Gate to Eden. At least in The SCP-Verse.

In The Guardian-Verse Uriel's task is much the same however instead of a Gate to Eden it is to a place no less important to the sanctity of creation. A Doorway to The Realm of Worlds. The Realm of Worlds is a place known to be the origin of the Tethers. "Invisible" Strands of creation connecting the hearts of various realities together that lead to Nexus-Earth which thus leads to The World Tree Yggdrasil.

Much like his SCP Countepart. Uriel has protected this gate for centuries. Reports indicate he has been on Nexus-Earth since before the Ancient Wars (IE The time period in which the events of the Lord of The Rings took place which would translate to roughly 50,000 Years before modern times) guarding the doorway.

Why it is on the mortal plain is currently unknown but from what The Sorcerer Yensid once told him of this gate. Sora may be the reason for it.

It should be noted that this Uriel and the Uriel from Darksiders (Which are also in The Guardian-Verse) only share a name and nothing more. Why Uriel (Darksiders) Shares this name with The Gate Guardian is unknown at this time however it could be due to many of the Angelic Warriors believing that the real Uriel had died during Lucifer's fall from grace but infact his presence on Nexus-Earth was hidden from the Heavenly Host except from his fellow Archangels. As such it may be a case of naming someone after someone else (Uriel is Heaven Born) and just to avoid confusion we'll refer to The Gate Guardian Uriel as The Gate Guardian and The Hellguard Leader Uriel as just Uriel. Sound good? Good. XD

After Sora's "Death" After defeating Xehanort and restoring Kairi to life. Sora's spirit would appear before The Gate Guardian who would move out of the way and open the door for Sora, leading his spirit to the Realm of Worlds where he would then go on several adventures to worlds that had fallen to The Realm of Darkness but still had sparks of light in them. Sora was tasked with collecting these Sparks of Light and bringing them Back to Nexus-Earth. After this task is complete. The Gate and The Gate Guardian would vanish from Nexus-Earth, his task complete. Where he is now is most likely with the rest of the heavenly host.

He returns during The Heaven and Hell War Saga.

So the reason for his guarding the gate was not only to see to it The Keyblade's Chosen would know what to do but to ensure that the fallen world's tethers would not give The Realm of Darkness a sure fire way onto Nexus-Earth. By Sora saving the remaining Sparks of Light on those worlds he basically cut The Tethers between them and Nexus-Earth.

Figured I'd clarify that.
