Description
The year was 1993 — and it was the 30th Anniversary of both the Avengers and the X-Men. Two powerful Marvel superhero teams with a lot of connective tissue between them. So they decided to celebrate with a giant crossover event saga. Hold onto your butts — this is AVENGERS/X-MEN: BLOODTIES!
Part 7:
In NYC, the Avengers battle S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who are trying to keep them from going to Genosha. But half the team led by Captain America (including Black Knight, War Machine, Sersi, Crystal, & Scarlet Witch) manage to escape in a Quintet, leaving the rest of the team at home to deal with the fallout.
Aboard the Blackbird, Quicksilver, who was still hanging out with the X-Men after that whole “we wiped Magneto’s mind” incident, is having a little tantrum.
You see, Fabian Cortz just went love, worldwide with a broadcast, showing he has murdered the entire Genoshian government. Cortez pretends this is to be a political movement for mutants to rise up against oppressive humans, but really he just wants to draw out Magneto. And to drive his point home he sat in front of the camera with little Luna in his lap.
Gambit and Rogue are able to calm Pietro Maximoff down, but clearly the sight of his daughter in peril has him on edge. And for a guy who is always on edge, that is saying something. But ol, Gambit, the mysterious cajun mutant also known as Remy Lebeau is all charm and able to keep Quicksilver focused just by saying weird puns about playing cards. He does that a lot. Mostly because his mutant power is to charge matter with explosive kinetic energy and his favorite tool of choice is cards. It’s a whole thing. It’s pretty annoying but he’s charismatic enough to get way with it, honestly.
