Here's a hero we covered before, but we are doing so again. You can't stop us. We do what we want. So there.

Say hello, once again, to Bonita Juarez, a young Mexican-American woman from Texas. A devoutly religious Roman Catholic, when Bonnie gained superpowers after being exposed to strange cosmic radiation from a fallen meteor, she believed it to be the work of God. Gifted with the powers to generate flames with heat powerful enough to allow her to fly, Bonita created a costumed identity for herself as Firebird, and set out to do "the Lord's will" as a superhero. Oh, lawdy!

Early in her career, she responded to a distress signal sent out by The Hulk's friend, Rick Jones. Other South West region do-gooder also responded. And thus Firebird, along with Navajo hero Red-Wolf (and his wolf sidekick, Lobo), the mysterious Phantom Rider (and his literal ghost-horse, Banshee), and the super-powered rodeo duo, Texas Twister and Shooting Star, all converged on the source of the broadcast. There they found the Hulk and, assuming him to be the cause of the problem, attacked the Jade Giant. Which is standard superhero M.O., to be honest...punch first, ask questions later.

Hilariously still outmatched by the gamma-powered Hulk, the team still fought with valor. Eventually the real villain (a man known as the Corruptor) was brought to justice, leaving the Hulk and Rick Jones to continue on doing Hulk stuff.

Firebird and the other heroes decided to remain a team, calling themselves The Rangers. Sadly, the American Southwest is a massive area, so the team didn't last long, mostly due to excessive mileage.

Firebird later briefly hung out with the West Coast Avengers, but left before she was offered official membership. She later reappeared under the name La Espirita to help Hank Pam through his depression. Firebird/La Espirita was given reservist status with the Avengers and shows up when summoned. No word on how comfortable she is hanging out on a team with literal Gods like Thor and Hercules.
