It's more of a carbine to meΒ if it still uses the 5.7 round.

Nice! Even if there is the Rhineland Arms AR57, available also in the CQB Variant...

OK.
I was thinking of redesigning my assault rifle and I was thinking of using a top-mounted magazine. But I haven't decided yet if it would be a P90-style or a helical mag. It uses the 6.5x40mmC , so the cartridge OAL is some 41mm. What would be your opinion?

They make a conversion kit for the M16/AR15 that changes out the whole upper reciever and allows for the use of P90 mags on it. It ejects the rounds out the mag well of the AR.. I know I have images some where I'll see if I can find them.

I spotted that upper a month ago. I have no doubts whatsoever that you can comfortably have a P90 mag on a rifle because the mag is not too wide as the rounds are only 40.50 mm OAL.
.....
My caseless has an OAL only about a millimeter longer....
K, that settles that.
To give a preview of what I'm thinking: Steyr ACR mechanism (based on it, at least), P90 -style magazine, AUG -style removable barrel . Wonder what it would look like...
BTW, you ever seen Hellsing Ultimate?
One of the antagonists has a modified P90 with a more traditional stock and grip.

Is like if the FAMAS and the P90 got together and this is their child. xD
