Description
This is a little something to honor the 70th Anniversary of the largest land invasion in history - D-Day.I've been recently watching a lot of old movies (in particular animated movies) from my past, and I really felt ashamed not having seen films such as Bambi growing up. So, in this case I went and saw both Bambi 1 & 2 and really had my comments, but overall enjoyed it. Since many of the classic Disney films were made during the war years and played roles in the war effort, I felt it was in their place to commemorate the beginning and the end of World War II.

Reading this title, I honestly thought this to be a parody of the song "Springtime for Hitler".

I love this! And I'm sure you've taken some inspiration from the actual Disney war "propaganda" that they made during those times.

I was pretty surprised when I saw these retro posters at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Fransisco. But at the same time I though the imagery was really cool.
Your drawing too, has that effect and I think it's a great concept

You are correct in you assumption. I did use that as one of my basis for this parody.
I like the genre of propaganda and the effect it can have on the public.
Thank you for your kindest perspective

I'd say being with Bambi side by side on the field was the honor, but Bambi would say the same, fighting side by side with you.

Awww, look at Flower. Adorably shy as always.
Bambi's already defending his country - The Forest. That's his job.

Bambi's storytelling, use of the multi-plane camera, and character dynamics were all awe-inspiring. I'm honestly shocked that people can dislike it.

This is an interesting image. Come to think of it, the only Disney characters I've seen go to war were Donald Duck and Pete. Love those old wartime Donald Duck cartoons.

I know. I never got why they use Donald as the symbol of the Disney War Effort during WW2. It's as if they never wanted Mickey involved.

We've been training for years
Now we're ready to strike
As the great operation begins
We're the first wave on the shore
We're the first ones to fall
Yet soldiers have fallen before
