I woke up and stared at my ceiling. It took me a minute to realize where I was. The last thing that I remembered was being inside of Jenny. I put my hand over my eyes and groaned as I stood up. I shook my head a bit. Looking back at the events of last night, There was no way that I could justify my behavior. I got dumped, so what. There will be others. I groggily stepped out of my room and into the kitchen. I splashed some water on my face to wake me up a little bit. I put some coffee on and opened the cabinet.
I didn’t hear Jenny walking up behind me. “Making me some coffee? How sweet.” She said to me. I was startled and dropped a coffee cup on the ground. Luckily, it didn’t shatter. “Damn, you scared me Jenny. Did you sleep over or something?” I asked her. She giggled and gave me a friendly hug. “Couldn’t let my little snack sleep alone could I?” She asked teasingly. I smiled a little bit and looked at her. “Nah, I guess you couldn’t.” I replied. As the coffee pot began to fill up, Someone else walked into the kitchen. I turned around and saw Sam standing in the doorway. Sam was a black furred wolf with some, blue stripes on his fur, and Neon green eyes. His hair was loosely hanging in his face and behind his head. “Morning you two. Is that coffee I smell?” He asked as he grabbed Neon by the waist and kissed her. I closed my eyes and looked out the window with a blank stare. Neon looked to Sam and shook her head.
Sam nodded in agreement. After there was enough coffee in the pot, I poured myself a cup of it and went to the living room. I didn’t add anything to it because I preferred the way it tasted without anything. Sam and Jenny both added sugar and cream. I stared at the blank T.V screen and sipped my coffee. I looked at Sam and Jenny coming in and sitting on the couch. I gave them both a warm smile and turned on the T.V. It seemed they were whispering to each other.
“How’d you two sleep last night night?” I asked them as I drank my coffee. They both looked at each other for a bit. “We slept good. Probably not as good as you though.” Sam replied. I laughed to myself a little bit. “I did sleep great.” I said smiling happily. Part of me was glad that they both decided to stay the night. “What do you two have planned for today?” I asked them “Well, we planned on walking around town. Care to join us?” Jenny asked me. I shook my head in response. “That seems like a thing for you two to do. I’ll just stay here and do some cleaning.” I said to her as I stood and went into the kitchen.
I was cleaning some of the dishes, when Jenny came in and set the glasses on the counter. I gave her a warm smile as she left. After I cleaned a bit more, I heard the door close. I looked into the living room and saw that they had left. I continued to clean the dishes, once I was done, I went to the living and began to clean up some trash. My home was dirtier than I remember it being. I filled up my garbage bag and set it by my door and continued cleaning.
As I began to clean out my closet, I found a small box and looked inside of it. I saw a few pictures of me and my ex. I smiled a little to myself, looking back on the happy memories. I slowly closed the box and put it in the top of my closet. Once I was sure that I had cleaned my apartment enough, I took the garbage out to the curb, and went back up to my room. and laid on the couch. I didn’t realize that I had begun to doze off. Soon, I was fast asleep napping on my couch.
I was awoken by a loud knocking on my door. I shot up and looked out the window. It was dark outside. I slowly stood up as the knocks had resumed. I slowly walked over the door and opened it. I yawned before speaking. “Yes?” I asked not knowing who it was “Hunter? Did I wake you?” Jenny asked. I shook my head no. “Not at all Jenny. I was just waking up.” I said as I opened the door some more. She graciously walked in and sat on the couch. “Sam’s not with you?” I asked her “Nah, he’s back home. Probably cooking something. Oh, We got you a little something.” She said as she dug through her satchel. She took out a small blue and black striped anthro lizard plush. “Here, to keep you company.” She said as she handed it to me. I smiled and took it. “Thank you so much Jenny, you didn’t have to do this for me.” I said as I hugged her.
She giggled happily and hugged me back. “I’m gonna go put this on my bed, i’m going to go put this on my bed.” I said to her as I went to my bedroom and put the plush onto my bed. I could hear Jenny saying something to herself. “Say something Jen?” I asked her. She looked at me a little surprised and shook her head. “Not at all, well, i’m gonna go back to my apartment and see if Sam is done cooking.” She said as she began to leave “Well, i’ll be here. Thanks again.” I said to her as I went to my kitchen. I began to cook some ramen. I wanted something fast and easy. After a few minutes I sat on my couch and began to eat. There was nothing good on T.V so I just watched whatever was on.
I heard some noises coming from my bedroom and slowly stood up, setting my noodles on the table. I slowly made my way down the hall and into my room. I looked around and saw nothing there. But the plush lizard was missing. I thought someone had stolen it somehow but there was no evidence of a break in. I looked around my room and still didn’t see it. I would continue searching for it later.
I went back to the living room and finished eating. Once I was done, I put my bowl into the sink and went to my bedroom. I collapsed onto my bed and groaned a little bit. For some strange reason, I had gotten tired all of a sudden. I turn on my back and see a large lizard plushie sitting in the corner. It seemed to be the same one that had been on my bed before it went missing. I sat up a little and looked at it. I looked at it’s eyes and body. It looked like it was made of silk, but was still detailed to be lifelike. I began to move towards it when it looked at me and blinked.
I yelped a bit and fell off my bed. I laid there for a few seconds until I was lifted up by something soft. I looked up and saw that it was the plushie. I began to struggle a little but the plushie held me against its chest. I don’t know why but I slowly calmed down and nuzzled it’s chest. “There ya go” The lizard said with a deep comforting voice. I hugged it’s chest and smiled. Did Jenny know this would happen? The lizard laid down on my bed and looked at me.
The smell of lavender and fresh linen filled my nose and I began to drift off. He smiled and opened his mouth widely. I looked up and into his cloth like mouth and smiled tiredly. As he breathed over my face, the same relaxing smell from before washed over me. He slowly slid my head into his soft mouth and licked me with his pillowy soft tongue. He moaned a little before he swallowed. His throat seemed to be softer and silkier than his mouth. He resumed swallowing me until my entire body was inside his silky stomach. I curled up in the warm stomach’s embrace and closed my eyes. The last thing I heard him say before I fell into a deep sleep, was ‘sleep well little one.’
