Description This is the second installment in my Brothers Grimm series, and is based on one of my all-time favorite fairy tales, the story of the Frog Prince. One of the things I have always liked the most about this story is the message that sometimes good things come to you in unlikely packages, or can be found in unexpected places. Like all fairy tales, there are so many different versions of this. In some versions, the princess, here modeled after the beautiful `lockstock , gets tired of her frog companion and tries to kill him by throwing him against a wall, and that's when he turns back into a prince. This version always made me burst into tears as a child though. I hated the idea of the poor frog being treated in such a way, and I actually think it would be wonderful to have a cute little frog friend, so obviously I prefer the version where the princess eventually warms up to the frog and breaks his enchantment with a kiss. The scene depicted here is the one in which the frog makes his first appearance when he retrieves the princess's precious golden ball after she accidentally drops it down a well. Thanks so much! I rarely do day scenes. I seem so much more attracted to stormy weather, or foggy scened, so I wanted to try something different. I wanted the princess's garden to seem much brighter and more idyllic.... a pleasant place to walk or play during the day.

And suits the story very well, all the vibrant colors really give it a childrens book feel in a way, works well.
