For reasons I'm not sure I fully understand, I have a soft spot in my heart for vainglorious queens who died by rather bloody and unfortunate means. Perhaps I simply identify with them as people a little more strongly than I should. Perhaps I pity them in light of their fates. Either way, they fascinate me. This is, of course, the ghost of Anne Boleyn, the unfortunate second wife of King Henry VIII. She's always been a favorite of mine, but she's been on my my mind a little more often than usual since I've been faithfully watching The Tudors every Sunday on Showtime. Anne was a strong and at times a vindictive and catty woman. I for one admire her and I do not think she was guilty of the charges that led to her execution: Witchcraft? Incest (you friggin kidding me?) adultery --No way.
Henry was worn out from the way Catherine of Aragon and fought the divorce and he was sure Anne was never going to go "gently into the night". She had made some enemies at court and they spread lies about her and Henry who was lusting for Jane Seymour decided to get rid of wife #2

I loved it! I'm fascinated with her in particular (I was dressed as the "Beheaded Anne Boleyn" for Halloween). I loved your ghostly effects, although I thought the sword would be better with a bit more blood. Congrats, anyway! It's awesome!

Ironically, they blamed the women for not providing sons to succeed the throne, but the truth is it was the man's fault. Another funny thing is that Henry VIII is believed to have had syphilis and that was most likely why he was cranky and impotent, if you get my meaning.

I'm recently intrigued by her as well. Especially the myths and falsities that arose from her rather public and dubiously orchestrated crimes.
I dunno, history is always a confusing mess, but this was one of those instances where it was especially so.
