2nd Pumpkin carving for 2006. Love the way it came out. Trying out a new perservative type: WD40. Will let ya know how well it works out. Carved 1st weekend in November (bit late, I know). And yes, I carved it just b/c it's a wolf.Pattern (c) to SpookMasters [link]

If I try one like this...I end up hacking off all those nice "furry edges" - way too detailed & my hands not steady enough. Looks awesome though.
It's a shame pumpkins have to rot so quickly. I've heard something about soaking them in cold water or something like that, then drying them comletely being useful...or maybe not drying them (don't know). If you want one to keep, you should try some of those foam pumpkins at the craft stores. They really do look real, and carve pretty easily...from what I hear anyway, haven't tried it yet myself.

The furry edges is from just taking the saw out and reinserting it a lot there to get the desired effect.
This one lasted about 5 days or so. It's headed to the dumpster today though (molded and shrivled real bad). With the foam ones, I would like to find a design I just love before actually carving a foam one

didn't work. First time pulled over for speeding, first ticket. Everyone else I know got a freaking warning (including brother)
