Still in the mood to draw Maurice and Bloodspur and SUPER in the mood to practice my colors! Maurice and Bloodspur are close and stick together. I really ought draw them together more and so here's this! Bloodspur LOVES his sire and is ferociously protective of him. Having his little buddy gives Maurice some confidence, especially since Bloodspur is the one who got the drop on Maurice's personal vampire slayer, Jhonez, once and saved his life.A little story about THIS drawing! I really fell in love with the inks so Wolfy got smart. My scanner has a copy/print function so I copied the inks onto nice smooth cardstock and colored it that way.

YOU SHOULD TRY IT! Especially if you want to try shading/coloring a specific thing and dont want to have to redraw the lineart over and over.
And actually, there isn't! I think Jhonez is the only really important character in Maurice's story I haven't drawn at LEAST once....mostly because he doesn't have a design 8I;;;. I just know he's kind of short and has glasses and is in his late forties or early fifties. He's a volunteer firefighter who hunts monsters on the side since he lost his brother to possession when they were young.

Some characters take more time than others... For me it feels like I literally see them blurry until I figure their designs out. And ooh, he sounds like a really cool guy for someone trying to kill Maurice, this is going to be COMPLICATED, I LOVE THAT 8)

THey develop a fun dynamic in the second book! He's actually stabbed Maurice two times and shot him even more. Jhonez is curious and infuriated by Maurice's refusal to seek revenge on him (he doesn't like that Maurice suddenly stopped fitting the faceless stereotype he's grown so comfortable with slaying) and Maurice tries to offer him information in return for peace.

I LOVE THESE TWO, I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!! I especially love Bloodspur's feathers in this. The little white highlights and the hint of purple look SO NICE.
