WEIRD COLORING EXPERIMENT.Draft for a scene from Only Sleeping (my second vampire book). Maurice has fallen in with a different Murder and Meranda and Horas travel cross country to find him since he got swept up in a skirmish. When they find him, Maurice has been reconditioned into the persona 'Dog.'
Here, he's deciding not to rat out Meranda's location since the others heard a heartbeat behind a low wall. He's doing so because he's NICE. Be thankful, Meranda.
