Ahh, it looks so nice! Did you dye it yourself or go to the hairdresser? What brand did you/they use? I just dyed my hair turquoise+several shades of green with Directions ^^

I went to the hair dresser because i have never died my hair before, and because of a friends experience with home dying the first time (she dyed her ends and they broke off). Im not sure what brand my hairdresser used.. Pureology maybe? I know she recommended that brand of color fast shampoo... Cool color choices for your hair! I have heard a lot of good things about Directions, specifically about the resulting colors being amazing!

BTW....do you know any tips for hair care? I have some good color fast shampoo and conditioner that has no alcohol, but i dont really know much else about care except chlorine fades color :/

Oh boy I wonder what dye she used? Semi and temporary dyes have conditioning components and are not bad for your hair. Permanent dyes and bleach is what penetrates and dehydrates the hair over time, or with incorrect usage or when the hair is pre-damaged (which by the way, is more minimal with shorter hair, unless you straighten it everday, use harsh chemicals etc)
It's the only dye I have availble. It's just convenience, like the fact that I dye and cut my own hair, I don't want to go to the hairdressers becuse I don't have the time and saving the money is great too.

Well, this is just me personally, but I cut down a lot on product use in general, I rinse my hair with warm water every second day (blues, especially dark ones, don't fade as fasts as reds do), and dilute shampoo (It's from fructis) in a little bottle with water every other day when my hair feels like it needs a wash. and just rinse my hair with that. I also use a deep conditioner every other week, because it smells amazing. I love doing hot oil treatments, but that's all stuff you don't really need unless your hair is damaged. And then again, skin and hair are very good at rehydrating themselfs.

Okay now I have no idea about your hair, whether it's dry or oily or if you sweat a lot but a few basics to keep colour from fading quickly are:

- Don't wash your hair everyday
- Consider co-washing (only using your conditioner and no shampoo)
- Use cold water or as cool as you can stand water
- Mix some of your dye (if you have it at home) into your conditioner, so everytime you use it you'll be touching up your hair a bit
- As you said, stay out of chlorine
- Oh and consider that your hair colour might rub off so don't sleep on white pillowcases for a while or wear a white hat in the rain (did that when I first dyed my hair with bubblegum blue by crazy colour and it stained the entire hat)

And that's it, I can't think of anything else. You shouldn't wash your hair too often anyway since shampoo can be really damaging for your hair, the natural oils are good for your scalp.

I only use shampoo because the blues and greens I'm using really don't fade much, but when I had red hair, and later pink, I'd sometimes only use the deep conditioner like thrice a week if at all.

One thing you could look into is dry shampoo, tho I'm not a big fan of them considering what some of those are packed full of. Actually you can use flour, or cornstarch, but you gotta look into that and just see what fits you.

Sorry for some rediculous typos and logical errors I am really tired and just kinda babbled on. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me, I can also link you to some stuff if you'd like that.

I hope you're enjoying your new haircolour ^^

Oh my mum is helping out with Vacation Bible School at our church but she took on waaay too many props (we have to make new props every year) and so I ended up helping her paint a bunch of things.  This wouldn't have been a problem except for the fact that I have been sick so it was taking a bit more of a toll on me.  At least its over now XD

How are things going with you? ^^

Woah, sorry for the late reply!
Yeah, at least it's over at some point ^^

And um, things are good with me so far. A lot of stuff has happened but I am impressed by myself because I'm handling my life really well. Yay for maturity? I mean I guess I should be able to handle my problems more or less now. After all I'm turning a supposedly adult in just 5 months.
Though anyone who expects 18 year olds to be grown ups needs a reality check. Most people don't ever grow up and I don't mean that in the peter pan kind of way.
What about you, my friend?

I'm glad things are going smoothly for you!

I'm moving houses, starting another year of school, more health problems to be solved (I'm actually going to have to go to a psychiatrist, which makes me sort of nervous), and I've started a staff position on a gaming server (no pay, but keeps me busy).  Otherwise, I'd say life is good.

(sorry for late reply, really busy)

I love it! Is it a semi-permanent dye or a temporary one?
I'm pretty sure I'm going to wind up with a pixie cut after all. They're so great!

Its permanent! Only thing gettin rid of this fabulous mess is growing it out XD. Pixie cuts really are amazing! They are easier to manage and you CAN still do different cute things with your hair. There is no reason not to love em ❤❤❤

Woah, your hair doesn't bleach?  I haven't heard of people's hair doing that.....sometimes the hair still looks the same color after bleaching I think but never straight up refusal 0-0 wow your hair must be awesome

icantreadloop In reply to wolfzero00time [2015-06-18 03:50:46 +0000 UTC]

well it takes a tiny bit of bleach but hardly any. I've tried everything from manic panic's flash lightening with 40 developer to Born Blonde bleach but it only comes out this weird slightly lighter brown color. My hair isn't even that dark >:/

Hm 0-0 that's weird....my hair acted kind of weird with the bleach (the photos i have on DA of myself don't show my true hair color, my hair is a really dark almost black sort of brown. When my hair dresser bleached my hair, i ended up with bright yellow locks) but it wasn't as strange as that. I have never heard of bleach doing that!!.....the only thing I know to say is bleach is really only meant to open the hair shaft so the hair absorbs color, and so maybe your hair stays the same color but can still absorb color? I dunno. It just a theory.

It's weird. I always try hard xD
I went to my stylist and asked what she thought and she was just like "I can try" so she left the beach in for around an hour but it barely lightened it. She said some hair just doesn't take to bleach.

I dunno, I sort of gave up on it lol
