Well, I do. But one day I will tell them. I hope.
Wanted to start drawing regular personal works, and suddenly made a sketch for a fullbody. This would be the first picture in 2016, and though I'm working on many different pictures at the same time - personal stuff often stays sketchy or even unfinished.

What a wondrous story is hidden behind this image I wonder?
He is on the battlefield, the arrows left and right still piercing the ground as they hit and the snow is fresh, so they have fallen probably moments or minutes ago. Was he at the side of the archers, or does this drop give them a chance to target him?
And what would make such a proud warrior fall on his knees? He seems unwounded, and he probably is not physically tired, but the spiritual exhaustion is quite visible. This is a man that was forced to do something he did not wish to do. Was it the person he just killed I wonder? He is holding the signet of his cloak, a family or house signet most probably. Did he kill a family or house member? His regret is apparent, but what brought it to fore?
I have been listening to sad piano music all day, and I had been thinking of this scene. It is so emotional, a moment where all his turmoil brings him down. I can feel the shortness of his breath, the intensity of his heartbeat and the blurring of his eyes, he is so devastated now that I do believe the snow around him has no effect on him.
This is a story that needs to be told, it is dear and important to you, and the picture is a testament to that, the emotional weight is very apparent!
