Resurr-Techs are the byproducts of resuscitation research. Most test subjects either died and could not be resuscitated, or were permanently put to death after they were rendered useless in the studies. However, there were a rare handful of animal subjects that survived what were suppose to be their last and final death. After a few of these unplanned resurrections, these animals were later labeled Resur-Techs - due to the scientists that boasted it was their medical technology that had taught these animals how to resurrect themselves, although that wasn’t the case.
After being put to death and brought to life over and over again, the fine line between the two had become a blur. The mixing of the realms had brought a strange biology to the field. These animals, being neither dead nor alive, could no longer feel the difference, though they inwardly knew the difference.
Resurr-Techs cannot feel emotions as when they were fully alive. Also, being no longer bound by physical needs, they do not need to eat, drink or sleep. But it’s because of these factors that they do not know how to live. Majority of them cannot tolerate such disturbing restlessness, and are nearly driven into insanity because of it.
A new science field was created to study these new forms of biology. But being ‘born’ of a freak occurrence, scientists did not know how to handle these unnatural creatures. These Resurr-Techs were lashing out in unpredictable behavior because they were being forced into more "controlled’ experiments, tests, studies... all within their already growing restlessness. Three attempts to put the animals into a controlled state had all ended with the brutal deaths of experienced animal handlers. Resurr-Techs were labeled as highly dangerous and unpredictable. The experiments were immediately put to a halt, and the research was abandoned.
If the Red Wolf Saip had learned anything through enduring such painful experiments that lead him to death and life, over and over again, it was how to revive himself. Not even death could hold him, In fact, even he didn’t know how to control himself.
His escape from his cage was not an easy one. Abandoned and left within his prison, as were the other Resurr-Techs, it took many years of deterioration for the metal links to be come brittle enough to be broken down by powerful jaws. With so much time wasting away in his cage, his body began to also deteriorate, loosing much of his muscle mass and fur that his bones were showing through. With his inability to die, he continues to live with a decaying body.
However, unlike most of the others of his kind, Saip's insanity began to wane a bit after his freedom from the cage. Being locked up was all that he knew in this “new”, deteriorating form, so exploring the “outside” world was a peak of interest. It certainly helped to curve his instinct to want to attack everything that moved. But still, in his inability to feel emotion, he could not relate much to other creatures of the Facility. However, hopefully his nobility and wisdom (gained from seeing death) will prove otherwise.

Saip is such a cool character! I love the concept of the Resurr-Tech. And I can just imagine the sort of arcane knowledge and wisdom Saip has gained over the many years of his deaths and resurrections. With his newfound clarity, I wonder if he will become a leader or an oracle of some sort? Ir perhaps if he will look for a way to die permanently. Very creative, and I can see so many stories in this character!

Thank you so much for your kind words and interest. I think I would have to put Saip into play for a bit to actually get a feel of what type of character he'd like to be. Majority of my characters that I use to play in written RP's would have their personality become perfectly clear after facing such situations. Their Character would be something that I'd never expected them to be. Kind of strange... and a bit creepy. Haha! I think after facing so much horrors, a final attempt at suicide wouldn't be in his fancy. He'd seen, heard, and felt and survived to much to just let himself slip away. I couldn't speak for the other Resurr-Techs though. With his inability to feel much of emotion, it would be really hard for someone to connect with him, and he'd be too abrupt in his behavior for anyone to trust him. But doesn't mean that he couldn't learn? I'm sure he'd be willing to. I'm kind of seeing him with a type of a split personality, though I'm unsure.
I do have another wolf-like charcter that is similar to Saip, and he is Razulym. He's also in a decaying body as a punishment for betraying his own kind, unable to die. Unlike Saip though, he is deceitfully cunning, full of anger, and bent on gaining control over he who condemned him to a life of decay.
