Description
The full collection of my Ninja Turtles Redesigns. It's pretty freakin huge, so my apologies to people with slow internet connections.
haha. When I was figuring out the scale I liked the idea of the turtles being really small in stature (along with Mondo Gecko being the smallest of them). Makes it so they definitely have to use teamwork to bring down gargantuans like Slash.
I also submitted this to the group, cause I just joined, but haven't had the time to do anything for it yet. Luckily they had an already existing TMNT folder.
Apparently with the new devart layout you can't see this thing as I had intended, so download for full size.

you really did a wonderful job of capturing the feel of the original designs and adding your own unique style to each character. This is some really beautiful work. Β

I had quite a lot of fun working on these. I keep meaning to slowly add to the series too.

Awesome work you did there! I especially like how you made the turtles more turtle-like while still making them look competent.

Thank you much! Glad you like it. It was QUITE difficult to draw something that looked like a turtle, but that also looked like it could be a ninja.

VERY interesting! Shredder is not my favorite and i'd like my turtles a bit more heroic, but they all scream personality, specially the monsters!

WonderDookie In reply to hugohugo [2012-12-30 23:08:44 +0000 UTC]
Is the Shredder too small, or just too armoured?
I agree about the turtles a bit. I am still a little undecided. I wanted to highlight the "teenage" and part of their name a bit more, which I think is ignored in most designs. That's why I made them less bulky.
Thanks for the comment!

haha. Well thank you! Glad you like it. It was QUITE the undertaking. I'd like to draw some more of the characters, but I can't stand using Flash anymore to do them in the same style. haha.

Ever thought of doing the more obscure characters like Renet or Fugitoid?

I have. I even have a version of Scumbug that has been sitting around in the sketchbook for about a year now. I just can't stand to color in vector anymore.

I ask because all of these characters are from the 80's series. Have you thought of doing some from versions of TMNT, like the movies or original comics?

WonderDookie In reply to uneek35 [2012-09-20 04:26:53 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. Like I've said before, it's largely because these were the characters I grew up with, and the ones I made my own storylines for. There's nothing nostalgic for me about the newer stuff, and I'm a creature of nostalgia.

I see. I do like the designs but many of the characters were clearly made to be figures first. Like where does Ace Duck fit in? What even is he anyway?

I don't know, but he was always one of my favorites. The design was not so great though. He looked exactly like Launchpad. I just have a thing for Ducks (they were also my university mascot).

uneek35 In reply to WonderDookie [2012-09-21 19:28:00 +0000 UTC]
Yeah he kind of looks like Howard the Duck mixed with Launchpad McQuack. It would be interesting to see an episode where they meet Ace Duck and he's in a Howard the Duck-like situation where he's from a duck universe and somehow got transported to theirs.

WonderDookie In reply to uneek35 [2012-09-28 10:38:04 +0000 UTC]
Well wasn't there an Ace Duck character in the comics that was from another universe? There are far too many parallels.

uneek35 In reply to WonderDookie [2012-09-28 19:42:13 +0000 UTC]
Not sure. From what I gather, Ace Duck was a complete invention of the toyline. I believe there was an episode of the 80's show where they where watching TV and before they turn it off, for a brief moment you could see Ace Duck on the screen, implying that he's from a show within a show.

Well I saw one time where they had him in the comic as some sort of galactic wrestler character. I have no idea what the context was though.

Either way, I'm not really interested in him. I prefer characters that have something to do with the turtles.

Venus is way far down on the "to do" list. Probably even lower than Halfcourt, the mutated basketball playing giraffe man.
