Description
The full collection of my Ninja Turtles Redesigns. It's pretty freakin huge, so my apologies to people with slow internet connections.
haha. When I was figuring out the scale I liked the idea of the turtles being really small in stature (along with Mondo Gecko being the smallest of them). Makes it so they definitely have to use teamwork to bring down gargantuans like Slash.
I also submitted this to the group, cause I just joined, but haven't had the time to do anything for it yet. Luckily they had an already existing TMNT folder.
Apparently with the new devart layout you can't see this thing as I had intended, so download for full size.

I think your re-designs are one of the best of DA!
I planning to continue drawing TMNT stuff soon and this is uber great inspiration for me!
I also like how you did these mutants look more like mutants - by giving them half\animal half\human legs and fingers.

Ooo. Well I very much look forward to seeing how you design the turtles too. That'll be really cool.
Sometimes I feel like a bit of a hack for doing fanart stuff like this, redrawing characters that others have invented, but it's always really fun to see how others interpret the characters too.

I think there is nothing bad about this. We all grew up with TMNT and saw them thousands times through these years. It's time to draw some stuff with our current imagination than just drawing exactly the same original style (cool too but redesign also shows artist's creativity and it's just fun\challenging).

haha. That's how I keep defending it to myself. I really do enjoy seeing other people's interpretations of the characters as well. I guess I should be working on designing my own characters though.

Love Leatherhead's (that's his name isn't it?) little man legs. These are all really great by the way. Raph has gotta be my fav though.

THank you very much!
Yeah, that's Leatherhead.
It's funny that everybody likes Raph so much. I was actually subtly making fun of him with the design (what with the large muscles and tiny little tail).

Great Turtle design, more logical with the design of the head. I love the classic, but its good to see fresh stuff.

Thank you very much! Yeah, I complain a bit about the original designs looking like green cabbage patch kids, but I secretly quite like them too. haha.

The thing about it is, you can provide more distinguishing features other than a Head Band Color. If I drew them, I'd cite your interpretation.

WonderDookie In reply to JosephPMorgan [2011-11-25 20:10:55 +0000 UTC]
Well I am not the first person to add different distinguishing features. I tried to take it a little further than most people do though.

Is it just me or does Shredder look a tad bit vertically challenged in here? lol. He looks sorta cute like this though, and I can already hear him now with that adorable and squeaky yet very menacing voice of his lol.
Raph looks very badass by the way, I mean... wow.
Great work buddy, it all looks absolutely amazing

I think it's a bit of the angle. I tried to measure his shin against Casey Jones to make them about the same height. Maybe a little bit shorter. I wanted to make Bebop and Rocksteady a lot larger thoo.
Thanks. Glad you like them.

I was just looking at those before. They're really fun. Your Drawn to Kill characters totally remind me of the old classic cartoons from the early 90s. Like they could be out of Ninja Turtles or that Toxic Crusaders show. How do you come up with the ideas for them?

Stato-beesknee In reply to WonderDookie [2011-02-22 00:46:08 +0000 UTC]
i smoke a lot of pot, erm no i mean.....er...what?
dtk started as a sticker battle, my oponent was a week behind me and dropped out as soon as he saw what i had done, no one else wanted to battle so i just carried on anyway because i could do my normal weird doodles but make one picture at the end(i intend to do 200, and have penciled half of em now).i guess i come up with the ideas because i want each one to be original, the only real challenge is not to steal ideas, especially when i look thru gallerys like yours.

WonderDookie In reply to Stato-beesknee [2011-02-25 11:28:53 +0000 UTC]
haha. Well I'm pretty much just stealing my ideas from 90s cartoons though. It's the circle of theft.

What other shows did you have in mind? I'm always interested in finding something new and awesome.

haha. Do you actually watch any television from the states, or is it just BBC?
You forgot the first season of Little Britain though. Some of the show is a bit off-putting, but there are moments of brilliance too.
And I'm a big fan of Spaced too. I must have watched through that series about a dozen times.

state tv sure, trueblood started well, the wire rules, sopranos was ace,oz was ace, fringe is ok, good old jack in 24, and SAMCRO IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVES lost however can suck my......well i thought the end was pants. i like just as much american tv as british. but in eithercountry there is a lot to loath aswell. could never get on with little britain, the vicky pollard character isnt even a joke, them girls exist here and people are always"doing" the catch phrases i hate so much.
so many young uns in england still havnt seen spaced, its wrong.
bit old now but if you havnt seen the young ones or bottom theyre as classic asfawlty towers or monty python now.
