Kay-Zar prince of the LongTooth Badger Clan was out swinging his sword at random raindrops trying to kill them when out of the blue he was teleported thru a random wormhole that 'opens when ever it gosh darn feels like it cuz its cosmic and stuff', and dropped him in New York City circa 2013.

Not speaking the language and understanding little of the world he found himself in, Kay-Zar did the one thing he could, He became a high end fashion model.
